2 hours of fitful sleep im halfway through my shift and so crazy. + i was baker for most of it so far & almost had a meltdown bc the oven was super hot & my mentor was rushing me & i sweat through my shirt and i was so uncomfortable and overstimulated .. affirmations i am working here to get somewhere and that somewhere is in my Own apartment and enrolled in a graduate degree program... and c is pushing me bc she knows i can handle it... and i am getting paid in less than a week...discomfort is temporary but money will change my life... ok.

man though that is smth to think about. like what did kushina even think of kakashi after all that happened. first with bito and then rin :(( ik minato made kks her bodyguard during her pregnancy which. fascinating choice there. one interpretation is that kushina was normal and was like, hey. unspeakable tragedy is so commonplace here. i would know!! so i get that two freak accidents which could ostensibly be your fault (the first of which you benefited from, uhhhhhh and during the second of which the only other witness to the first died) can happen in a row and it's not on you kakashi youre just a kid. i love you. which is more correct i guess bc he genuinely didn't mean to do all that and it was for real two freak accidents in a row. but kishimoto's tragedy is that such coincidence is clearly impossible to believe + kks is alone in his grief and haunted by the volumetrically subjective amount of blood on his hands. i do think kushina has the capacity to understand kks but only if the setup was right and it wasn't.

which brings me to the other interpretation which is that kushina had max one freak accident pass in her and after rin's death she couldn't look at that guy anymore. which makes minato's bodyguard choice kind of weird but only if you don't consider his scary 3d chess interpersonal machinations. and scene

tags that made me cheer & clap i am so obsessed with the projections and misunderstandings here. kushina sublimating her fears about a fated unhappy ending / a loss of kyuubi control / minato betraying her onto kakashi who is primed to absorb and validate all that bc he was born (written) to be a wrongfully persecuted christ figure. minato losing his chess pieces one by one until the only two he has left are kushina + kks and trying to make it work even though he also doesn't know all the details of what happened. kushina deciding that what happened is probably also what would have happened if She had been the jinchuriki in that situation [and kks had been minato] and then having to leave it at that because any other interpretation would undermine the foundation of her selfhood + political identity + marriage. and also her memory of rin which is incorrect but which definitely becomes a pillar of the aforementioned selfhoodpoliticalidentitymarriage because she's static in death and even easier to project a narrative onto. wow. its awful vibes. found family but make it super fucking evil. i really really like it
