Sasuke was not that much of a friendly guy pre massacre and he just got worst after it happened because apparently when your favorite lerson in the world kills your whole family and tortures you as a 7yr old you kinda get trust issues , naruto and sakura were the only people he let in post massacre

Sakura is the least obvious one because kishi hates her ass but you have a 12yr old that wishes to have dead parents and has 0 friends since her angsty friendship breakup with ino , and you know that the bullies came back once she stopped hanging out with ino let's be fr

I think what makes Sasuke so painful is that there's no way out. There's no way to recover from what happened to him. There's just no way to exist after your entire family is killed by your favorite person in the entire world.

And then once he learns that it was actually the village's fault? Now the only solace he had. The only place he thought was safe. Is just as tainted. Just as culpable. Fucking of course he unravels further. There's just. There's no way to return from that.

Ultimately, that's why the others can't do anything about it. Because what can you say in that instance to comfort this person? To bring them back to the light? There's nothing you can say because it's just too much. There's nothing you can say that can mean anything real or substantial

craziest orotsuna moment was actually the first one we ever saw, where orochimaru, fresh off killing hiruzen, still actively a rogue ninja and a known serial killer, just like. showed up to their former teammate's failgirl abode and went "hiii lol it's been a while....can u heal my arms" and she like. genuinely considered it for several moments. like it's such a batshit scenario, but it makes perfect sense for the two of them. cuz wtf does tsuna care about konoha, she also left. her goals aren't aligned with theirs anymore, at this point in her life she has no allegiance to anybody, so she's a neutral third party in all the bullshit happening between otogakure and konohagakure. she knows they went off the rails after the sannin went their seperate ways, but like, so what? killing people is an inherent part of being a shinobi, it's not any more or less morally righteous just because they're doing it for their own goals instead of in service of a village. she doesn't know the specifics of what they've been up to, and she doesn't care. it's none of her business. the only reason she doesn't agree initially is because they tell her about hiruzen.

and, again, orochimaru is more than comfortable asking tsunade for help, because they know that only she can heal something like this, and the idea of her as their healer is still ingrained in their mind from their time as teammates. they don't even bribe her with the edo tensei at first; it takes them a long time to even bring that to the table. they almost blindly trust that she's going to help them anyways.

Kishimoto: What? Why would you think that? No I think they’re going to…fight an alien or something.

You: Why wouldn’t they try to change things?

Kishimoto: Uh, cause that would be….bad.
