Captain Haddock, The Adventures of Tintin
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
Gandhiji
Every true love and friendship is a story of unexpected transformation. If we are the same person before and after we loved, that means we haven’t loved enough.
Elif Shafak
It’s hard to trust someone, especially when the ones you trusted the most were the ones that betrayed you.

Sometimes anger is just a way to rid yourself of the hurt.

There’s always one who loves and one who lets himself be loved.
W. Somerset Maugham
Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.
Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday to You!
Sometimes if you smile enough, you start to feel happy.

If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.
Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood
“There are two ways to be happy: change the situation or change your mindset towards it.”

“I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
Sometimes when I say I don't care, I'm really lying. Sometimes, what I really mean is that I care so much that I hide it away and all I want is for you to show you care by uncovering it.

“Today I found a note from my seven year old self. All it read was, “When I grow up, I want to be a good human." And all I could think was "I really hope I haven’t let her down.””

Strength
Once in a while I wonder
what true strength really is.
Who is it that defined it?
Who is it that claimed it his?
And why is it we think that
so few of us are strong?
Are the rest of us truly weak?
Or are we simply wrong?
Mustn’t cry in public.
Mustn’t cry at all.
Be strong and sturdy, always.
Let no one see you fall.
For then, “You’re weak,” they’ll tell you.
They’ll make you feel so small.
Smaller than you already feel
while they stand straight and tall.
And somehow they’ll be called
the words you’d like to hear.
They’re so brave and they’re so strong,
with no weakness and no fear.
But really, is it them?
The ones who should be praised?
For they aren’t the ones
who, an issue, faced.
It was you who was made
to feel weak by those who jeered.
It was you who moved on
after you weeped and were greeted by sneers.
And move on, you did,
didn’t you?
You did,
though they were cruel.
After it all,
you stood once more,
ignoring the hurt,
ignoring the sore.
But stand, you did, didn’t you?
You rose above, alone.
So perhaps you’re strong, I wonder
if there’s more to strength than told.
Mustn’t give up.
Mustn’t weep.
Mustn’t feel fear.
Mustn’t be weak.
But what is weak?
I don’t understand.
Are you weak if you fall
while lending a helping hand?
And is strength in only winners,
those who rise above the rest?
Or is it in those who pick up others
when they are put to the test?
Once in a while I wonder
what true strength really is.
If perhaps it’s not just a lack of weakness.
If perhaps it’s always there within.
