😩 Hardest thing about writing the muse? 

Lack of a distinct personality. Sometimes I get too carried away and make Rias a bigger meme than I probably should, but when her personality is a whole three words I think I’m allowed some creative wiggle room. And sometimes it’s just hard to balance the Bitch with the Witch if you get my drift.

📑 Favorite part of your muse’s backstory? 

HAH. WHAT BACKSTORY. I wish I was kidding when I say her card lore is a single paragraph. If we’re going based on the past of my interpretation of Rias though, it has to be the time she put Altmile under a love spell. That was fun.

     “Marinette then. Nice to meet you, child. I am called Rias,” the witch greets, smile loosening into something more genuine. Bless the Messiah that the first face she met in Wonderland was kind. Granted she was a disaster with children under normal circumstances, but this one seemed to be will informed. The more knowledgeable the better; cause Rias certainly didn’t know shit.

     A gloved finger is brought to her chin as lips purse in thought. So, a multitude of others were being brought to this world? Strange, but definitely something the witch desired to look into. To what purpose were the denizens brought here, and through what methods? Moreover, why the chosen few specifically? Questions and hypotheses ran around in her head, begging to be tested and answered.

     All good things come to those who wait, she reasons. Patience, patience.

     “It’s kind of the government to set up a settling program,” she states, moving her finger to twirl a piece of silver hair. “Though a bit concerning as well. How often must they go through this, I wonder? Meh, no matter for now. Mind sharing your knowledge of this place with me, Marinette? You must have accumulated a fair share of tips.”

Fortune Favors the Stupid || Rias & Fran

☽ Starter for @varias-mist!!

     United Sanctuary was a nation of rich history; deities and holy dragons presided over the land as guardians. The knights protected the holy land earnestly, and King Alfred governed fairly and wisely. A beautiful land, if in constant turmoil due to personal grudges between clans. Yes, Rias loved her home dearly.

     But home didn’t have an amusement park, and that was a damn travesty.

     Since she couldn’t use her magic to make herself regular human-sized, the number of rides Rias could actually go on was rather slim. No biggie, everyone knows you go to places like this for the greasy carnival food. Funnel cake in one hand and a soda in the other, the witch strolled along the paths of Amusementland with a smile on her face. Even if she was getting weird looks from passing patrons.

     A gathered crowd catches her attention, and being a woman of curiosity she had to know what the hubbub was about. For once her height served as an asset, allowing to gaze over the heads of the tiny humans. An illusionist, huh? This would be interesting to watch. How good was he compared to the Pale Moon troupe?

Marinette looked up at the woman and blinked. Whoever she was, she was beautiful! Marinette hurried forward and offered her warmest smile. “Hi! Um, I’m guessing by how you’re rattling that stick you just… Got here?” Marinette offered gently.

     Her beautiful staff, reduced to nothing but... A plain ol’ stick. Humiliating - the other witches would mock her relentlessly for such a blemish. It could be used as a dowsing rod at least, and she could still feel the hum of magic coursing through the conduit. Muted, yet still there. Well, hopefully it couldn’t get much worse than this.

     ( It always gets worse. Has she learned nothing? )

     The soft voice of a human snaps the elf out of her little pity party, and Rias blinks her turquoise eyes in surprise. Where was- Oh, down below her! Tiny little thing; much smaller than the humans back on Cray. Crouching down to meet the small girl at eye(ish) level, Rias puts on a strained smile. This kind of hurt.

     “You’d be correct, little miss. Just arrived in fact,” she states, letting lose an exasperated sigh. “Unfortunately I’m not off to the best start. Mind helping me find my bearings...? Sorry, I don’t know your name, dear.”

     Enter: the Bitch. Here comes a local disaster witch here to cause shit and have a good time! She’s a little pissy with the restraint on her magic abilities (and the fact that she might have to resort to dumb con tricks) but I hope you love her as much as I do. That being said, let’s get a starter call out there! Capping at... Let’s go with 3!
