It's been several years since I last saw heavy snowfall. Last winter, I made a trip to Hokkaido to see the snow. However, at the beginning of the year, we had a significant snowfall at home, which was no less impressive than that of Hokkaido, prompting me to want to stay a few more days to appreciate the changes brought about by the snow.

From a daily life perspective, snow can be seen as a nuisance that paralyzes traffic and causes inconvenience requiring snow shoveling; but from another viewpoint, a snowy landscape is like an unexpected ticket to a playground, offering limited-time enjoyment within its embrace.

My hometown is boring, familiar, rundown, nostalgic, tedious, yet affectionate.

To commemorate this perspective of finding joy in observing life, I have created this series of works to remember the heavy snow at the beginning of the year.
