Chariot, Shelby, and Mackenzie are all on the autism spectrum.
Technically, all of Lumen's characters can be considered autistic because Lumen, as an autistic person, can only write from that perspective. However, these three are ones where she will confirm it to be so.
Chariot was intended to transform into a cat in a future chapter.

Samantha is the second OC I created but the first to be made on Snow Queen. As such, her birthday corresponds to the day I made her.
She is the first OC I aged up to correspond with the time skip in Hilda Season 3
At just barely five feet high, she is the shortest of my OCs.
Despite Hilda being set in Britain, she is voiced by an American doing a British accent.
Her gardening skills came from how there is quite a bit of plant symbolism in Hilda.
I wanted Hilda to just have a nice, more passive friend, so I made her.
Samantha knows about the magical realm but just uses it to keep to her garden.
While she has no magical powers, her knowledge of flowers makes her useful and skilled nonetheless.
INSPIRATIONS:
Tulip (Infinity Train): Smart and resourceful redheads. Infinity Train was only in its pilot at the time, but I still took influence from the character.
Agnes (Despicable Me): Precocious youth; shares a voice.
Chibi-Usa (Sailor Moon): Youngest member of the team with a big heart looking to help.
Alice in Wonderland: Cute and thoughtful young girl.
Isabella Garcia-Shapiro (Phineas and Ferb): Young and cute, but smart and can hang with adults.
Applebloom (My Little Pony): Where her gardening traits came from.
Star Butterfly (Star Vs. The Forces of Evil): Influenced some of her more hyper, super-kind traits. While I saw Star later, some traits influenced later Samantha performances.

Ricardo is from El Salvador, represents El Salvador culturally, and his birthday is their independence day.
He is a motmot, otherwise known as a torogoz, because that is the national bird of El Salvador, equivalent to the Bald Eagle in the United States.
Even though Ricardo is a friend to Donald, Jose, and Panchito, he is not with them enough to be considered the "fourth Caballero".
I took some of his backstory from Hamilton since he played the role in one of my stories, namely the part about him being an orphan.
Ricardo can sing in five octaves, his birdsong being a big benefit.
Despite being shipped with Jewel and Rarity, Ricardo has no girlfriend currently, and would only be interested in finding another Motmot.
Ricardo is bilingual, and in many appearances is used to teach Spanish to children.
"Human" Ricardo is not canon. I use that to project outfits for the characters he plays.
Lucio (Overwatch): Share a voice actor, fun and Latino. Even though Lucio is Brazilian, he still counts as Latino and influenced Ricardo's personality.
Paco (Maya and Miguel): A fun loving Spanish-speaking bird.
Hamilton: A special, somewhat overconfident character who is an orphan from a small ocean country.

Even though Chariot is my "mascot" character, Mariana is the leader of the group when they are all together. Her experience and athleticism helped her become cheer captain as well.
As a resident of the multiverse, Mariana can act as ambassador anywhere and everywhere.
Mariana is a "renaissance woman", an accomplished dancer, gymnast, geologist, bassist, and architect
Mariana can sing, but prefers not to. She will just stick to the bass.
Mariana has canonically competed in the Olympics, winning a gold medal in the team event for gymnastics.
She is a first-generation immigrant on her mother's side and a second-generation immigrant on her father's side (both from El Salvador)
Mariana is bilingual and will sometimes switch to Spanish when nervous or stressed.
Her crystal skin is almost unbreakable, which allows her to resist several curses.
Gwen Stacy (Spider-Man): Technically Miles as well, but Mariana's more feminine traits were straight from Gwen.
Cinderella: Spider-Verse and Cinderella are basically the same story. I decided the story of a simple city girl earning crystal based powers from a special mentor fit the bill nicely.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Miraculous Ladybug): Arthropod themed superheroes who get around on a string and are totally different as superheroes than as their real selves.
Cyber Six: Latina superheroine.
Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon): The fiery, magical one of the group. Also Mars is kind of the leader of the group when Usagi is not present, similar to Mariana in relation to Chariot.
Kim Possible: Athletic superheroes who are cheerleaders and super capable as heroes but awkward at everything else.
Me: Mariana is the character most like myself, being Salvadoran and having fun with life. I used to have a streak in my hair when I was in middle school, but not anymore.

Lauren is the first OC I have related to a canon character, she is Keeper Bob's daughter. The name "Arthur" came from his actor's name, Rod Arthur.
The reason I only mention Lauren's dad is because her parents are divorced. Her mother dealt with alcoholism and bipolar disorder, prompting her to leave Keeper Bob when Lauren was six.
Lauren only joined the Crystals because her scholarship required participation in sports, and the only sport where she has any experience is gymnastics.
Lauren's favorite dinosaurs are ankylosaurs. She likes the armor.
Lauren can play the bagpipe in accordance with her Scottish heritage. She used these skills to carry over to her oboe playing.
There was only one Prehistoric Park chapter with her, but I did plan on covering all six from her perspective. Just ran out of time.
Lauren still has a princess phase and despite working with dinosaurs is not above pretty dresses and tea parties.
She has never been on a date, which leads to a few awkward situations around boys sometimes.

Merida (Brave): An independent, fun-loving Scottish girl. Yeah.
Lunella (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur): A studious young girl whose best friend is a dinosaur.
Iris (Pokemon): Dragons are technically not dinosaurs, but they are close enough to translate Iris' passion and knowledge.
Anne (Amphibia): Has a big heart and associates herself with amphibians. Is a representative of Thai culture like Lauren is of Scottish culture.
Zooble (Amazing Digital Circus): The one who helps people and provides insight.
Lisa Simpson (The Simpsons): A smart young girl who is in the sciences.
Astrid (How to Train Your Dragon): A blonde girl of Northern European ancestry who is known for being smart, tough, and surrounding herself with large reptiles.

Annika and Nikola help new demigoddesses like Chariot discover and manage their powers.
Annika is older by five minutes.
They are fraternal twins, not identical. Their eyes and noses differ slightly, and their personalities are made in direct contrast to each other.
Just like Chariot, their father is a god (i.e. a wind god) and their mother is mortal.
Nikola is the one who does most of the talking and represents the two of them while they are together.
Even though Nikola is asexual, she may be straight romantically, as she has some attraction to Rex. Annika has been on dates with both boys and girls, but finds it difficult to open up to others on account of her introversion.
Even though I had them cheer and play soccer, Nikola's best sport is actually softball.
Nikola is a talented musician and singer. Like Shelby, she can play trombone.
INSPIRATIONS:
Mabel and Dipper (Gravity Falls): Their personalities are modeled mostly after these two.
Fred and George (Harry Potter): Even if they are a bit interchangeable, the idea of them being twins came from here.
Patty and Selma (Simpsons): Twins with distinct personalities despite being opposed.
Pinkie and Marble Pie (My Little Pony): Yes, they are twins. Annika is like Pinkie Pie if she were introvert. Nikola is more like Maude Pie personality wise, though. But Marble is still cute.
Zak and Wheezie (Dragon Tales): Polar Opposite Twins.
Aang (Avatar the Last Airbender): This is where the idea of them having wind powers came from.
Anna and Elsa (Frozen): Their personalities are mostly based on these two. Even though the Arendelle Sisters are not twins, they are close enough to feel like they are.

EIGHT FACTS:
Shelby was partially created to address my own gender dysphoria (which I have gone to therapy to resolve). I was afraid to debut Shelby at first because I did not know if people would accept a transgender OC. But they did.
While I officially describe Shelby as transgender, there is an argument to be made she is actually a DE-transitioner. On the one hand, she had to be cursed with a boy's body and needed treatment to undo it. On the other, she was "assigned male at birth" and lived her first eighteen years as a man. So call her what you want, but I say she is trans.
At 5'8, Shelby is the tallest of my OCs.
I was going to make Shelby a VTuber, but it was both too expensive and I could not think of anything I would want her to do as a VTuber.
Shen was chosen to be Shelby's boyfriend due to their shared love of gardening and similar backstory of being socially isolated (Shen came from another planet)
Shelby is mixed-race. Her father's side of the family comes from France (or whatever the Tangled equivalent is), her mother comes from Iran. Her possible half-brother is from her mom's previous marriage.
The idea of her being a mixed martial artist came from the idea of her defending other characters, but even in my earliest drafts of her intro she was established as a brawler
She is an OC for the Tangled SERIES, not the movie. She would basically be a spinoff, introduced in Season 1 and then going off to do her own thing.
INSPIRATIONS:
Ozma (Wizard of Oz series): She was my most direct inspiration for a trans princess character, and I took her backstory and general personality almost entirely from Ozma.
Fiona (Shrek): A princess in exile who changed her body and is also a fighter.
Fluttershy (My Little Pony): Known for kindness and her ties to nature.
Riley (Inside Out): A girl with emotional instability and anxiety issues who plays a contact sport. Also implied to be autistic, like Shelby.
Fuka (Vivid Strike): A cute girl who does MMA. I got my research for MMA from this show.
Uzi (Murder Drones): Struggles with identity and supernatural possession. It is also from Uzi I decided to give Shelby a "goth" side.
Addison Wells (ZOMBIES): This is more of a coincidence than a direct inspiration, but the similarities are hard to ignore. They're both cheerleaders, both struggle with body and identity issues, both care for their friends, and their moms are both aliens (In Shelby's case, her mom is from another country)
