Came across this interesting article in the Windsor Star while enjoying a coffee at Marija’s a little while ago.
I enjoyed the read and appreciated the reminder to be careful when riding, spring time does seem to bring a lot of car/motorcycle accidents, maybe because cars aren’t use to looking out for two wheeled vehicles.
Please, while driving - remember ‘the life you save may be mine’.

I have a very good friend who knows me better than most, I have known her for a long time, we met when I was in seventh grade. Meeting her was a life changing moment in my life, I had no idea the impact she would have. She was fun, friendly, non judgemental, supportive, loving, and to this day she still is. She helped me finish jobs that were difficult for me, even if it meant breaking a mirror, she listens to me spill my heart out, from a childhood to adulthood, drives me to the airport at crazy hours, basically whatever I need she is there for me. She takes care of and comforts me when I need it, she applauds and encourages me - she is the friend that every person should have and I thank God for her.
I couldn't find any childhood pictures of the two of us, that might involve going through my parents photo albums, but here we are after my wedding shower.
Here we are at my wedding.
27 years later at my daughters wedding
The latest picture I have of the two of us, proving that I have a fun friend
A picture from our latest adventure, I love hanging out with my friend.
Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.
I am blessed!
A Beautiful Day in July
Today was forecasted to be a perfect weather day, here we are in July and it is only in the low 70's (21c). Larry and I decided it was a perfect day for a 'ride', we started along Riverside drive and stopped at Marija's for breakfast
http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g155021-d1488318-Reviews-Marija_s_Place-Windsor_Ontario.html
- seriously, the best (and cheapest) eggs benedict anywhere!
We then went to Aces, http://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Ontario/Windsor/Aces-Powersports-Autosales-Inc/7095222.html where we ordered a few necessaries, and found a few extra things we needed, Larry found a new shield for his helmet and I was really excited to find some covers for my ears!
Then off to http://bobsmotorsport.com to pick up my bike, I was excited to get there.
We rode double on Larry's bike on the way and then picked up my bike and rode to Erieau, http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Erieau&country=CA We enjoyed hotdogs at the beach thanks to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hot-Diggity-Dog/220016981435350
Some places we saw today in beautiful Essex County
Lake Erie, off Talbot Trail
But then trouble appeared
The hour and a half we waited for CAA to rescue us was well spent, exploring the area, soaking up the sun, and apparently getting attacked by a tick
Now I'm riding on the back on Larry's bike, we took a break here to stretch our legs.
A perfect day and night for a ride,
Once home I enjoyed soaking in a bath, but was surprised to find the above mentioned tick, I was really surprised how big it was. I had Larry find a youtube video on how to remove a tick and followed the instructions the best I could, we searched our bodies for other ticks and found none.
This was a good day :)
Beatrice Fantoni wrote a fun article about the WindsorHums! t shirts I made.
What is the Windsor hum,... you may ask.
There has been a reported 'hum' in the city of Windsor, Ontario. Some people hear what is described as a low-frequency rumbling sound that has rattled windows and knocked objects off shelves in this border community, which is just across the Detroit River from the Motor City. Locals have said it sounds like a large diesel truck idling, a loud boom box or the bass vocals of Barry White.
I personally haven't heard this hum but have talked to people that have and thought I would have a little fun with it. Windsor is great place to live, work & play - I love living here!
Check out the shirts on Etsy or if you live in the Windsor area you can find them at Jones & Co. 1755 Wyandotte St. E.

Today I worked out next to my yoga mat as it was occupied and I didn't have the heart to move him. I think I have a little rug burn but I was glad to at least have the carpet.
Clean Bearings
Last Sunday night at practice with the Border City Brawlers, I noticed that my wheels were really dirty and today was cleaning day. After borrowing a bearing press from Mike Foster I was able to clean the bearings, oil and reassemble them. I was so excited to try them that I laced them up while still in my kitchen, it was fun rolling around as I emptied my dishwasher and I enjoyed the 3 extra inches of height the skates gave me. I think that if I could do all my house cleaning in roller skates I would have the cleanest house around!
Shopping for a new handbag? Want something unique? Amanda put together a fun treasury on Etsy, check it out.
Tweaking a Blouse
Have you ever lost a blouse to stains, tear's, shrinking, ironing mishap's? Speaking of ironing mishaps, I was ironing the blouse when I lost the blouse, there was no fixing it so I tweaked it - take a look at my new blouse. What do you think?
A great day for a ride!
Today, I was thinking about how many wonderful people have brought me a flamingo in the last few years, a reflection of my business name. So I thought I would take a few pictures and share them with you. During this process Brittany (she recently opened a business called Hodge Podge), who recently took a sewing workshop showed up with her cute baby, Tulip, Tulip had a couple of fun flamingo lights. It's so much fun when someone comes in here with a flamingo in hand, I feel very thankful to all who thought of me when they found a flamingo treasure, what a fun way they showed their support, I find it very encouraging - thanks guys!
A short article in 'The Lance', a good read.
Did I mention, I'm at Jones & Co.?
I had the pleasure of working with BEATRICE FANTONI on the reconstruction of her t-shirt, it was a fun project and a good day.
