By saintfortbrand via @RepostWhiz app: We were excited to produce this #Balmain inspired piece. The creative process [10hrs] made this a very invigorating experience. When partnering up with @sameeyahhh no task is to big to complete in a day! (at Parsons The New School for Design)

Late fall of 2012, I remember tweeting subconsciously about moving to New York. I recall this tweet so vividly because my friend retweeted me and ask me âfor what?â My response was to attend fashion school. Becoming a designer has only been a mere thought in my head since the age of 16. I had no experience, no understanding of the foundation of the industry, so naturally I feared it. Ironically, that tweet landed me my first styling gig, and subsequently a blog chronicling my style. You see God works in ways we mortals cannot grasp. Being a little Haitian girl from Orlando FL, dreaming or pursuing a career in the huge world of fashion isnât something you naturally think is reachable. And I was content in my cage of comfort {my normal life, work, friends and family}, I feared the uncertain, and had no true motivation to seek anything else. But that tweet wasnât from me it came from, God, the planner of my life. When I started my application to fashion school it was almost like a force guiding me throughout the process of revising my resume, editing my [then basic] collage, letter of intent I thought for sure this was a shot from half court, I was ok with the idea of not getting in. When I received my letter fromParsons âThe New School for Fashion Designâ, I was in disbelief and confused at my acceptance. Iâm not smart enough, fashionable enough for such a task, Iâm not even a New Yorker. I thought I wasnât worthy enough to sit in the same seats as Jason Wu. Until Iâve never shared these thoughts with anyone. I was so unsure and nervous about attending, but that same force that guided through the application process pushed me through my doubts. I remember telling everyone the news and seeing the fear in their eyes often followed by smiles and encouragement pushing me to chase my dreams. I sought consult on my decision to leave in so many places, and after every conversation I knew the move to make. This journey was embedded in me before I even knew it, and as I slowly rationalize the New York hustle and bustle which is a way of life and furthermore a state of mind. Iâm still adding pieces to my puzzle trying
