Uhhhhh WELL tumblr told me that this blog is 7 years old today xD the knowledge of which instantly punched me in the face and knocked me flat.

I haven't been working on chapter 2 consistently. I don't have much more than this to show right now, and I can't even promise more will be coming any time soon. But happy birthday to my fannish brainchild that I still love very much and 100% want to finish some day!

YO I MADE IT! <3 When I first started this self-indulgent “little” fancomic I didn’t genuinely think I’d stick it out this long. Thanks for reading along :3

So we are heading into a chapter break! I’m not gonna commit to a return date right now. I need to spend some time thumbnailing out chapter 2 before I get started on it, and I also want to spend some time reviewing my comic production process generally to improve my efficiency. As much as I’m kinda happy with how most of Matricide looks, it is . . . time consuming :’) and I may have to accept that finishing this thing will require a few more shortcuts on the  aesthetic.

Also, there has actually been a little fanart for this comic flashed at me, which is amazeballs - if you do happen to doodle anything Matricide-related, let me know and I’ll share it here to fill the gap! <3

April struggles to fit her personal mission into her professional life. Mike can’t focus on the professional life he’s got. Nobody is happy!

Man, I had some difficulties with these pages. Fried my poor lil’ brain trying to make the layout work as a double-page spread like I originally wanted, realised it just didn’t work (flow was all wrong), re-laid the whole thing out vertically, tried some different things with speech bubbles, and by the end of it all I guess I can summarise my contentedness as this - I’m happy with the individual panels, and moderately satisfied with the overall flow. Not sure it communicates everything I wanted it to as cleverly as it could have, but time to move on!

I spent so much time on these panels because I’m incapable of appropriate levels of detail so I’ve posted the pages larger than I normally would. Right-click and open to embiggen!
