I am an expert of Japanese sake, which I've been working with for over 10 years.

Ever since I'm alive and breathing though, my main passion in life is fashion. I collect designer clothes and accessories at affordable prices as a hobby, so I spend an unspeakable amount of time browsing fashion sites.

I learned how to wear kimono properly from my Japanese boss 8 years ago, and I am not afraid to make it my personality:) I do not consider myself a pro kimono dresser, however, it is among my life goals to become one.

I will rant about kimono styling a lot in here. Mainly about how difficult it is to dress a tall person - yours truly.

This time another beautiful obi with a bird and bamboo design. I like the contrast between its dark color and the obi.

I really wish to own a kimono myself, but it’s so expensive in my country to buy one!

Obimusubi party!

Today we practiced the dreaded suehiromusubi, along with two other designs.

Much better than last time!

Style no. 2. takarakinchaku aka the treasure pouch.

Style no. 3. agehachou is supposed to be a butterfly taking flight as I'm told.

Was a good class!

“Symphony of Light” - one of the most significant kimono creations of Itchiku Kubota. This series reflects his admiration for nature, the inspiration received from the contemplation of the endless play of changing light.  Itchiku Kubota was a Japanese textile artist, most famous for reviving and modernizing a lost late-15th- to early-16th-century textile-dyeing and decorating technique called tsujigahana.

 These five works was created in 1981.

It’s not often that the Tokyo National Museum brings out their kimonos for display - but there is now a great exhibition there.  Too bad it was not a permanent display, and also too bad that not many international visitors will be able to see the temporary display because of the restrictions in travel due to Covid-19.  Hopefully many Japanese will visit to be inspired by the greatness of their past.
