Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ( Phillip ft. Maggie )
ā Ugh-- that thing is back? ā Maggie mumbled with his mouthful of peanut butter toast as he stopped by Phillipās bedroom open door, he was on his way back to his own bedroom when he caught a glimpse of hisĀ ābrotherā and the gigantic teddy bear he kept in his bedroom. Of course Maggie had noticed the stuffed bear absence for the last few days, he thought Phillip had finally got tired of it and disposed it but alas, the bear was back. Upon hearing him, Phillip merely spilled a very guilty chuckle, cheeks tainting of a soft pink as he mindlessly scratched his sideburn.Ā ā Oh shush you~ i just got it back from the cleaning service, ā He explained himself while returning to his previous task, to fix the giant plushās bowtie to leave it looking as if the whole toy was brand new.Ā ā but if you must know, i do am parting ways with it today. ā Phillip confessed in a tone softer than his usual one, and those words caught Maggie completely by surprise, whoās eyes turned as round as physically possible in sheer surprise.Ā ā Really? Why? ā Maggie finally asked, as if he hadnāt being beggingĀ Phillip to get rid of it from the very first day he so gingerly brought it home.Ā
Why had Phillip bought that in the first place, was a mystery to Maggie, his brother never revealed the reason why, he never told him that a long time ago, when he had someone that lovedĀ him, he was gifted a bear very similar to this one, one that would keep him company whenever his ( then ) husband was away from home, and ever since his return from the grave, Phillip had felt the loneliestĀ he had ever being in his entire existence, thus when he came across this bear at the store he knew he neededĀ it, he needed itās comfort and the memory it represented so that he could get by. So that he could make it to the next day.
ā Itās time to let him go. ā Phillip simply said without taking his eyes away from the bear, with a lovingĀ smile on his lips, and a few tears gathering in his eyes that, in all honesty, only made Maggie worry, because Phillip never everĀ showed any kind of weakness or pain; and as if on cue, the doorbell to their apartment rang above their heads, making both of them turn their heads.Ā ā Iāll get it, is for me. ā Phillip promptly said with another smile and no trace of those tears he had in his eyes just a second ago, Maggie simply nodded in understanding and continued on his way to his bedroom, with more questions than answer but he decided to table those for another day, another time.
ā Hi! How are you? Please, come on in~ āĀ Phillip chirped when opening the door, greeting one of his female students and her daughter, a child no more than six years olds, whoās eyes sparkled as soon as they were set upon the giant teddy bear that had being brought over, and was now waiting for the girl to take him home. His student thanked him countless times, as many as she asked him if it was really okayĀ for them to take the stuffed toy home, to which Phillip replied each and every necessary time that there was absolutely no problem with them taking it, and that he was delightedĀ that it would get another loving home. Obviously the toy was way too big for the little girl to carry it on her own, thus Phillip took it upon himself to help them get the toy into the cab they called to pick them up after a little chit-chat.Ā ā Take very good care of SaturnĀ for me, okay? ā Phillip asked the girl, with a little tap to her nose as he helped put on her seatbelt, to which the child replied giggling and nodding her head quickly, followed by the biggest hug she could manage to give the bear next to her. The little girlās happiness warmed Phillipās heart to the point he felt like melting on the spot.
As the cab departed, he simply stood there, a smile on his face and a hand in the air, waving the mother and child goodbye, along with his most precious possession, until the cab swerved at the corner of the street, never to be seen again.Ā ā Goodbye, My Love. ā Phillip murmured, with a loving smile on his face, of course, and then took on a deep breath that he exhaled as a sigh, a contentĀ one, arms stretching over his head before they gracefully fell back onto his sides. It was the right thing to do, for his ownĀ good.Ā ā Happy Birthday to me~! ā He then chirped with genuine happiness, a chuckle pushing past his lips as he shifted on his heels and made his way back into the apartment, he had to fetch Maggie and drag him over to Blake and his familyās home, after all they had twoĀ birthdays to celebrate now, his own and that of one of his beloved nephews. It surely promised to be a long and lively day, and he was absolutely looking forward to it.
