The country "Oz" is governed by the monarchy and 4 witches.
Scattered throughout the land exist mysterious structures called "Ruins." Buildings forgotten by time and trains entwined with ivy exist. For you, it's a completely familiar sight, but for this country, they are strange structures. It is rumored that in the depths of these ruins, grotesque creatures are roaming about.
You, who have become lost in this other world, are unreasonably sentenced to death. You have no choice but to obey and investigate the dangerous ruins where monsters roam, as it's the only way to escape.
Alongside you on your journey is a group of young men also sentenced to death. The men are "cold-blooded killers" who previously laid hands on people. You will journey towards the ruins while at the mercy of their eccentricities. Thus, you will be faced with many choices. However, please remember one thing:
There is no life worth dying for.
Together with the cold-blooded killers, your journey facing death starts.

I recently ordered Oz Requiemz, so I translated the story listed on the website. I am a little rusty, so I used this as a refresher and to prepare for when the game arrives.
Vocabulary I would study based on the premise is:

I don't know until the game arrives, but I think it'll be an easier read if I work on memorizing those words.

This is a localization project for the Nintendo Switch Otome game Volontés which was released in Japan on May 22, 2025.
Volontés is an Dark Fantasy × Suspense otome game in which the main character, who has lost everything, finds her way of life while facing tragedy.

Thoughts: It's pretty mid. It had an interesting premise, but it fizzled out near the end and left a lot of plot lines unresolved. The art was nice enough, but I don't think I'd recommend it due to the ending.

Starting with the premise, I was hoping for the obsessive male lead to be obsessive. That was the biggest letdown for me. Initially, I was intrigued because I thought Veillyn, the heroine, and Nellan, the BL love interest, looked similar. I was like, "Cool, our male lead Jellard has a type." I was ready to settle into a nice story where our heroine is healed eventually, accidentally changed the direction of Jellard's obsession, and so on.
In the middle of the story, some parts of the plot had me raise an eyebrow. I thought they were rather glorifying Jellard's Father's affair with Jellard's Mother; however, later on it was explained that the Duke's legal wife was a cheater, and neither of his legal children were biologically his. I was like, "OK, that plot point is resolved." However, the most interesting plot points are still up in the air.
By the end of the webtoon, we don't know what happened to Nellan. We don't know what happened to Veilyn's mother or the shady dealings of the Orlando family that caused her mother to have Dungeon Disease. We have no idea if they figured out a new treatment for Veilyn's dungeon Disease or why her father made her drink monster extract. I ended up looking up novel spoilers to see if any of that was left out of the webtoon, and yes some of it was, but even reading the summaries I felt like the novel didn't resolve enough of the things I wanted to learn about. We don't even know why or how Nellan regressed. Basically, all the fantasy elements, the dungeons, the shady dealings, etc, were not very fleshed out in the webtoon and seemingly in the novel as well.
To me, the ending just felt incomplete and rushed. There were some implications of things that had happened off-screen that I felt needed to be highlighted more. It ended up feeling a little shallow.
ALSO, if this was set in a depressing, toxic, BL novel, it could have used some more toxicity. I would have been down to see Jellard struggle a little bit more with an obsessive tendency. It would have been nice if Veilyn realized these novel "characters" were people and how messed up the stuff that happened was to those characters, like Nellan. Jellard was all around too healthy for how toxic he originally was.
Conclusion:
I don't think I would recommend this one.
Did I enjoy it? Kind of... The ending felt really rushed and incomplete. so put a damper on things.
I think if you find the obsessive male lead of a BL redirecting his obsession depending on circumstances, Reforming the Obsessive Male Lead is a better read. It keeps that struggle with obsessive personality trait, which is the appeal of this kind of story, imo.
