On the subject of nice food and nice company: Dinner feast at home last Wednesday 😊 Including: Blanched bok choy, cold noodles with fried tofu, red bell pepper and cucumber, tempura eggplant and a tasty miso sauce 😋 Plus fresh herbs from bf's mom's vegetable garden.
What a treat this Saturday has been! ☺️☁️ My boyfriend and I had a lovely brunch at a tea room in Aarhus that we had wanted to visit for the longest time -in fact, we had to book with a month in advance-.
It included a whipped cream and strawberry filled scone, finger sandwiches and two big teapots -one, a Chinese green tea, and the other, a blend of Ceylon tea and Earl Grey-. Plus an extra scone with lemon curd, because we are sweet tooths.
A couple of hours later we were hungry again! So we grabbed a bite and a cold drink in Emmerys. It was honestly so good.
The memory of this day will keep me going for the rest of the week, I hope!
I am realizing just now how much I gravitate towards these shades of pastel yellow lately. Amarillo natillas (or "custard yellow") I'd call it.
It's not always easy to use, and it can come off as mellow, specially standing on its own. But in the company of the right hues, I'd say it's just perfect.
Cheerful yet calm. Sweet. Radiant. Shy.
I have started working on a personal project with a friend around local businesses, where I am in charge of redesigning their logo/brand identity, and he of bringing them to life with animation.
A project like this, with no client to provide a brief or to set deadlines, and no income to be expected, is difficult to bring to completion. But it is so rewarding at times that I know, I'd hate to see it fade away, like many other projects before. So I want to be more structured and more trusting on the potential of my own ideas, so others can see it too ☁️
Will someone believe me if I say the color combination of the tulips planted in this very spot in town was slightly different last year? I believe it to have been white-pink-red, whereas purple seems to be more dominant this season.
The proud flowers standing tall against the sun and sheltered in a bed of luminous forget-me-nots, reflecting the color of the sky ☁️
The most wonderful Danish spring weather last weekend 🌼 21 hole degrees! I had to use the chance to go out and sketch the tulips at their peak while soaking in the sun rays.
In the absence of a vase, a teapot works just fine!
Oh, how I adore the spring blooms 🌸 The most mundane of days are all of a sudden filled with this thrill and sense of enchantment, and the sweet aroma of the budding trees and gardens.
The darkness of the winter is replaced by the long long days, and the timid sun comes out much more often.
My first post here, yay!
I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog-type-of-thing for some time now and, the urge just took hold of me on a Wednesday night, so here we are.
It seems cozy and less stressful to gather thoughts and images once in a while and just present them here. Quietly.
