Colonization has caused many natives to live with disabilities - physical and mental. Relocation made us leave behind our traditional diets, practices & medicines. It caused lifelong trauma to many families- trauma that never was able to heal because many native people didn't trust western medicine to fix their problems- why trust the colonizers to fix the problem they started?

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder almost 2 years ago. I had been unemployed because of my disability, so went to vocational rehab for over a year to get a traditional job (janitor for goodwill) which they fired me from when I explained a symptom of my disability to my manager. Then, vocational rehab closed my case when I complained about losing my job. Now, I sell my art online but i'm very much living paycheck to paycheck and do not have the money to get the care i need.
