18th-Century Sex Toy Found In Ancient Latrine

Polish archaeologists digging an ancient latrine in the Baltic city of Gdańsk have stumbled upon a 250-year-old sex toy.

The phallic object is “large, thick, made of leather filled with bristles, and has a wooden tip,” the Regional Office for the Protection of Monuments in Gdansk said in a press release.

Dating from the second half of the 1700s, the artificial penis was found “preserved in excellent condition.”

According to the archaeologists, it was mistakenly dropped in the toilet by the person who was using it.

“It was certainly expensive. Cleaning revealed it was made of high quality leather,” Marcin Tymiński at the Regional Office for the Protection of Monuments said in an interview with Radio Gdańsk. Read more.

my strangest legacy - in high school, for one reason or another (I can’t remember) my friends and I wrote “34 days until March 2nd” on the whiteboard in the drama classroom. It was completely arbitrary but we kept it it up, “30 days until March 2nd”  ”23 days until March 2nd” etc. It spread around enough that the entire school is buzzing about what is going to happen on March 2nd. We figure we should think of something and decide to bring in cake. There were about 13 of us in total committed to bringing a cake. On March 2nd, during 3rd period lunch we all entered the cafeteria in a line (the parade of the cakes) and laid them out—a grand cake buffet for everyone in that lunch period. We did it the next year. And after we graduated it kept going.

This past March 2nd was the 9th year they’ve done it. It’s become a school sponsored event. There are t-shirts for this thing every year. March 2nd is cake day. I am a god.

Family

Henrik, Giđđa and Kristoff So a while ago I couldn’t get the image of Kristoff’s birth parents out of my head. So here the are. What I imagined them to be like anyway. I think it’s safe to say I was heavily influenced by Saami traditional clothing. In the 1800′s they were not (or didn’t look) as colourful and not all were so detailed, so I took reference from more recent traditional outfits. I also took creative license for a few things so that it would fit more in the Frozen movie!verse ;) I imagined they died of unknown causes so he was separated from them at a very young age, probably around 5 and that he would still sort of vaguely remember them.

Kristoff basically inherited his build and his face from his old man, only Henrik is bigger.  And from his mother, aside from her blond hair, more subtle things like how she smiles and her higher brow ridge and softer cheekbones.

I’ve just come to the realisation that Hermione Granger probably memory charmed her parents and packed them off to Australia long before she told Harry and Ron she’d done it at the beginning of Deathly Hallows.

She literally never goes home from Goblet of Fire onwards, spending her summers with the boys instead. In GoF she’s remarkably blase about her teeth, something her dentist parents would have noticed and felt hurt about. 

If I were to guess, I’d say she probably did it after the wizarding world cup when she’d seen exactly how the wizarding world treats muggles and decided not to let that happen to her folks. Hermione knows which way the wind is blowing and gets in early. She’d be more than capable of doing it.
