Ok so has anyone done this yet,

The two ocean dwelling peoples, Dolphins (Tursiops tyrannus) and Salmonids (Deinolania oceanis) have a long history of hostility towards each other. Dolphins have a long history of hostility towards everything. They’re jackasses

Salmonids get a poor reputation namely due to the funerary practices found in many of their cultures, but in reality are not any more inherently violent or aggressive than any other peoples. Groups that regularly visit the shores of traditionally Inkling territories have a long history of animosity between them and the local land dwellers, recently exacerbated by large scale invasion of their traditional seasonal territories by corporations seeking to steal their eggs. It seems that nearly all Salmonid cultures share a hatred of Dolphins, however; although they do not make an active effort to hunt them down, slaying a Dolphin is a highly honored feat of heroism. Dolphins are not afforded the same funerary rites Salmonids extend to members of all other species. Fuck em.

Dolphins get a bad reputation because many of them actively enjoy murder. Young Dolphins especially seem to have an affinity for harassing other organisms, especially other sapients. Though there have been a few cases of positive interactions and even relationships between Dolphins and other peoples, more often than not a Dolphin encounter ends in violence. International law prohibits prolonged contact with Dolphins other than is necessary to steer them away from inhabited shorelines. Salmonids, however, spend a considerable amount of time at sea, and so come into contact with Dolphins the most often. Many Dolphins can be found (proudly?) sporting scars made by Salmonid warriors. If there are any pacifist Dolphin groups out there, they have not succeeded in making themselves known.

Dolphins have long been rumored to be excellent vocal mimics by many coastal Molluscan cultures, but evidence of this has yet to be documented in the modern era.
