Bruised Shins

“It took a long time to realize I’ll always be some sort of fucked up over you. I’ll always feel some kinda fuckin way no matter how much I don’t want to or try not to (and gawd knows I’ve tried). I hold it close because after the bottom fucking drops out so many times you learn to adjust your footing and then I just grasp to what I can and hope it doesn’t let go. I grasp to the things that are steadfast and solid. The things that won’t bruise my shins or shatter me in the most brutal and beautiful ways.
