How does postcanon Genesis cope now that all of his friends are dead lul
Funny thing lol. He doesn't. 🙃
Imagine the constant guilt, constant self-blame, knowing you set things into motion. That you schemed. Instigated. Pushed and twisted the knife. That the two people you loved most in all of Gaia are gone. That you will never see them again, never claim what you could have had. That you brought them to their deaths, bit by bit, inch by inch.
And you might be alive and you might be cured but the wing's still there there to remind you of what you are. And your honor may be back but the boy who restored it is dead. And the honor you've reclaimed is all to fulfill the void of those that have since left this world.
You will never share that Banora White with your hero. You will never hear them laugh or protest or taste the new morning that spreads beyond the clouds. You will never know what it is to fight side by side with the ones who raised you more than your adopted parents ever could. You will not degrade, you will go on living. Probably longer than most. You will struggle and fight and claw your way forward.
But you can't go back. And you can never go home. And they will never return to you.
Three friends go into battle. One is captured. One flies away. The one who is left will become a hero.
The one who is left is alone.
