I think it's very important actually that Kris has no visible eyes and it absolutely has to do with their relationship to the dark world. all major/mandatory bosses have no visible eyes

king -> no eyes

queen -> no eyes

tenna -> no eyes

knight -> no eyes

titan -> no eyes

fake gerson -> no eyes

kris-> no eyes

I think it's also important to point out that their sprite is made in a way where we could technically see their eyes bc they're not totally covered by Kris' hair, but we don't because Kris won't show us. when they do we see them through their hair:

ok look i didn't really like the pitt season 2 that much but i feel like i need to disclose this:

there have been complaints about how robby should seek proffesional help before taking care of a baby, or how the narrative portrays that it would magically "fix" him. yes, he should, and no, taking care of her wouldn't solve his mental issues.

this is not a story about a literal man who is deeply mentally unstable about to take after an infant irresponsibly and against better judgement. paraphrasing frank bidart: there is a STORY between the STORY

this is a story of life and death. the way it portrays it is symbolic. the end of a life and the beginning of a new one, from complete scratch. robby hugging baby jane doe and consoling her and possibly taking care of her isn't literal, and it doesn't matter if it has moral complications because while it may be happening on screen it's not what's going on at all. what's going on is: death meets life meets harm meets healing. a man who feels like his life is over and has lived a thousand lifetimes and a baby who doesn't even have a name yet and has been alive for less than a day, who both feel abandoned by life, who have both closeness to death and abandonment in common. who are both HUMAN and distressed and crying because life SUCKS but death sucks even harder.

@named-victory this is SO important actually. no one in the prophecy has visible eyes: the human, the monster and the prince. it's when they stop being those titles that we see their true selves.

Susie abandons her "monster"/cruel persona and starts being Susie, Ralsei abandons his role as the prince almost immediately and takes off his cloak to show himself a little bit better, then fully reveals his "true" self when he starts being an actual person with his own thoughts and feelings (although I think it's very important that he wears glasses so his eyes are still behind some sort of confinement. no other darkner wears actual functioning glasses because they literally don't need them, and the only other important darkner that wears any sort of glasses is spamtom. which.) but Kris is still just the human, at least to US. they're still just the vessel
