Unexpected || Soah
Noah drove, staring out of the wind shield intently. He kept his face calm, on the inside, he was dying. Something could be seriously wrong with their baby. He couldn’t take losing someone so dear to him, not again. He held onto her hand as he sped to the hospital. Moments later, they were parked in the garage. “We are here. Everything is going to be okay.” He said as he got out of the car and moved around to her side. He opened her door and picked her up, not wanting her to exert too much energy. “Just keep breathing baby.”
Once inside the hospital, a nurse hurriedly gave them a wheel chair which Noah set her down in. “What seems to be the problem?” the nurse asked them and Noah spoke up. “We aren’t sure. She was fine once moment and the next she was writhing in pain. She needs a doctor.” He said, keeping the panic to a minimum. The nurse just nodded and brought them to an empty room. She let Noah help Sam onto the bed where they waited for the doctor.
As Noah picked Sam up, she wrapped her arms around him, cringing in pain but still able to hold on. She nodded at his panicked command and took deep breaths. As the nurse pulled out the wheelchair, Sam sat down in it with the help of Noah, leaning back and holding her stomach. When the nurse asked what the problem was, Sam was prepared to speak. Suddenly, she heard Noah's voice speak up. Usually she did the talking when it came to new people--but this time, it was all Noah. 'He must be as scared as I am, if not even more..' she thought to herself. Once they were inside the room, Sam got onto the bed, once again with the help of Noah. Holding onto his hand, she heard the door open and in walked their usual doctor--Dr. Aarons.
Relieved to see him, Sam started to spill everything that had happened in just the past few minutes. "Dr. Aarons, I'm so happy to see you.." she trailed off, cringing in pain again. "Samantha, Noah..what's happened? Nurse Maggie said that it was an emergency." he looked at the couple with concern. "Well, for the past few days I've been having these pains in my stomach, and blood coming out of me..I thought it was just part of the pregnancy you know?" Sam squeezed Noah's hand, a sharp pain hitting her stomach once again. "A-and today, I was fine one minute, but then they came back..the worse that they've ever been.." Dr. Aarons nodded. "Well, we're going to have to do an ultrasound, to be sure that everything is alright." he seemed concerned, but still Sam watch him hook all of the equipment up.

Noah smiled, loving her blush. “I guess so.” He chuckled lightly, but his smile slightly faded as Sam grabbed her stomach. He swallowed and looked at her, keeping calm. “Are you okay?” He asked beginning to become worried by was answered by another pain filled grunt from Sam. He put his hand on her back rubbing it lightly as his own heart began to race. When she stood up, panic threatened to take over his thoughts, but he had to keep calm for Sam. It could be nothing. Her next words proved him wrong. He helped her back onto the bed gently as he tried to keep his own tears away. “Don’t worry, everything will be fine. I’ll get the keys. I’m taking you to the hospital.”
Noah quickly pulled on his shoes and entered the walk in closet. There, he found Sam’s comfy sandals and put them on her as carefully and as quickly as he could. “Are you ready?” He asked before picking her up. He held her with one hand as he picked him keys up from the dresser by the Jonah picture. Down the stairs they went and they were out the door in minutes. He helped her into the passenger’s side gently, but with urgency. Seconds later, he was in the drivers seat and driving a bit faster than he should be.
Sam took deep breaths, trying to keep herself calm for Noah. She could tell he was panicking as much as she was, but he hid it better than she did. Sam flinched at the word 'hospital' as Noah walked over to the closet. 'It's okay, it's probably nothing..' she thought to herself, but soon after another sharp pain in her stomach stopped her thoughts all at once. Sam put on her shoes and wrapped her arms around Noah's neck as he picked her up, her stomach still turning, her heart pounding. She held back the tears that were threatening to fall as Noah rushed them down the stairs and out the door.
Adjusting herself in the seat, Sam threw her head back as another course of pain hit her lower stomach, making her yelp a little too loudly. She grabbed ahold of Noah's hand as he got into his seat, noticing that he was driving a little too fast. Sam cringed as the pain worsened, squeezing her eyes shut in hopes that it would all somehow vanish. But it didn't. She opened her eyes to see that they were already at the hospital, hoping for the best to come.

Noah kept his eyes on Sam the whole time. He knew the song perfectly, so there was no need to look down at his hands. He smiled at her, as he expressed his love, which now expanded to both her and Molly. As Sam sang with him, he started to smile more. He loved hearing her voice, especially when it mixed with is so harmoniously. The song ended and Noah gave his signature smile. He kissed her back sweetly, her fingers tickling the back of his neck. “Was it? Do you think she liked it?” He asked grinning. He put his guitar back and kissed her stomach. “What did you think, Molls?” He asked her stomach, not expecting to get a response.
Sam smiled and nodded in response to his question. She was caught off guard as Noah kissed her stomach, making her blush. Giggling as Noah asked Molly what she thought, Sam started to feel a sharp pain in her stomach. "Ouch," she whispered and she put both of her hands over it. "I guess she liked it.." she trailed off, laughing lightly but anxiously, trying to hide the panic in her voice. Just then, another sharp pain hit her lower stomach, making Sam cringe. "Agh," she stood up from the bed, her eyes closed as she tried to wish it all away. "N-Noah.." she trailed off.
Sam wanted to tell him that this had been happening for the past few days, she never really put much thought to it as she assumed that it was all a part of the pregnancy. But this time, it was worse. It felt like someone was stabbing her in the stomach. "Ouch," Sam squeezed her eyes shut as she quickly sat on the bed, feeling dizzy. Sam shook her head, "Noah..this doesn't feel right.." she told him, worry filling her eyes in the form of tears.

Noah sat on his bed, his guitar leaning up in the side of he bed. He invited his girls to come up so he could give Molly a little treat. He had always heard Sam sing and talk to her and decided he would do the same. Sam said it gets them used to the parents voice, em Noah couldn’t wait to get Molly used to his. He would always talk to Molly, kiss Sam’s stomach as if he was kissing his baby girl. Now was the time to pick it up a notch. Noah picked up his head when he heard her arrive. “Hey beautiful.” He said as he wrapped his arm around her. Noah laughed with her and shook his head. “You are one clean freak aren’t you. But, I’m glad to have my girls.” He commented, lightly stroking her belly. He leaned over a bit and grabbed his guitar. “Alright, Molls. This is a song that means a lot you your mother and I. I hope you like it.” He took a deep breath and began to play.
Sam giggled as Noah stroked her growing stomach. "Glad to be here," she smiled as Noah picked up his guitar. As he began to play, Sam got lost in his eyes, something that she did a lot. She put her hand over her belly and rubbed it softly, silently admiring Noah's beautiful singing voice. Towards the end, Sam sat up a little and looked into Noah's eyes, starting to sing along with him, the lyrics that described just how they felt about each other. Their voices mixed together perfectly, which made Sam wonder if Molly was really listening. As the song finished, Sam put her hand on the back of Noah's neck, playing with pieces of his hair. Leaning in to kiss him, she started to rub the back of his neck. As she pulled away, she smiled at him. "That was perfect, Noah."

Sam was in the kitchen when Noah asked her, and Molly, to come up to his--now their--room. She was cleaning up, something that she always did in order to prepare herself for motherhood. She couldn't wait for Molly to arrive, and she knew that Noah couldn't either. As soon as she finished, Sam headed for the stairs, walking up them quickly but carefully. Reaching the door to their bedroom, Sam opened it, walking in to see Noah sitting peacefully on their bed. "Hey handsome." she smiled, walking over to sit next to him. Resting her head on his shoulder, Sam kissed Noah's cheek. "Well I'm pretty sure I've cleaned every inch of the house today..so I'm all yours. I mean, we're all yours." she laughed lightly.

First Meeting || Self Para
Sam finally pulled up to the coffee shop and got out of the car. It was late on a Saturday night, and the city was packed with people. Walking up to the door, she took a big breath and opened it. She looked around for her aunt, but then remembered that she had no idea what she looked like. Just then, Sam felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She took it out to reveal a text from her aunt.
Aunt Claire [5:43pm]: I'm already here, sweetheart. I didn't want to be late. When you get here, I'm at the table in the front corner of the coffee shop near the window. Can't wait to see you.
Sam looked up from her phone and over to the corner where her aunt had told her she was at. There sat a woman with blonde hair, she looked to be in her fourties. She was short, like Sam was, and everything about her seemed small. Sam made her way over to the table, feeling faint as she got even closer. "Uhm..are you Claire?" she asked the woman as she watched her look up at her. "Samantha?" Sam nodded and smiled, sitting down across from her aunt.
"Hey." Sam chuckled lightly. Aunt Claire seemed to look at her in disbelief. "Is everything okay?" Sam asked her. She blinked her eyes a few times and smiled at Sam. "It's just, you look so much like your mother, it's incredible. Despite the hair." they both laughed. "I've been dying it for almost five years now. You name a shade of orange, red, or blonde and I've had it." Sam giggled, her heart lightening up a bit. Aunt Claire shook her head, "Your mother once told me that she was going to dye her blue. She did it a week later with hair dye she got at the drug store." Aunt Claire chuckled and shook her head while smiling. "She was a piece of work, I can tell you that."
This was the most Sam had heard about her mother, ever. She loved hearing about her, hoping that Aunt Claire would tell her more. But instead, Claire looked down at Sam's stomach. "The hospital never told me you were--" "Pregnant." Sam cut her off before she could say it. "I don't use the same hospital that I went to when I was five, I'm not sure I even remember it's name." Claire nodded. "How far along are you, sweetie?" Sam smiled at the question. "A little over six months now." she placed her hand over her belly. "It's a girl.." she trailed off. Aunt Claire smiled. "Have you figured out a name for her yet?" Sam nodded. "Molly..a-after momma."
A painful look crossed Sam's face, one that Claire must have seen because she took ahold of one of Sam's hands across the table. "That is very sweet of you, Samantha. Are you called Samantha, or something else?" Sam nodded. "I prefer Sam, but when you call me Samantha..it sort of reminds me of mom, and her voice, you know?" Aunt Claire nodded. "I understand. So, is the father still in the picture?" Sam smiled big and nodded. "Yeah, my boyfriend, Noah." Aunt Claire smiled. "How long have you two been together?" she asked.
Sam hesitated a little, trying to search for the right answer. "Well, we've known each other for about four years..but we've been a couple for a few months now. I trust him. He's different from anyone I've ever met, you know?" Aunt Claire smiled. "You sound just like your mother when your father and her first met. They were so in love, I envied them." Sam looked down and smiled, memories of her mother and father coming back, loving memories. "Tell me about them?" she asked her. Aunt Claire seemed to be happy that Sam asked when she started to talk.
"Well, your father. I only knew him for a year or so but, he had a kind heart. He was calm and quiet, but I think your mom brought out the best in him. When they were together, it was like they were some kind of force. You know, something that couldn't function if it were broken but when it was together, it could go anything. Your dad made your mom very, very happy. And your mother, you're just like her.." she trailed off to a stop and smiled. "She was so free and outgoing, she didn't care what anyone thought of her, I admired her so much for that. She was different from all of us, she was the outcast of the family. I think she felt like everyone hated her for it and that's why she left."
Sam was confused. "Wait, what do you mean she left?" Aunt Claire sighed. "About a year after she met your father, she told us that she was taking off for New York. We originally lived in Pennsylvania. Molly didn't want to live anywhere near us any longer..she felt like we all hated her. In fact, it was the exact opposite--we loved her so much. We never knew that she had a daughter with your dad, we figured that she'd come back sooner or later but..she didn't. When we got the call about the accident, they never told us about you.." Claire trailed off. "They didn't tell us much other than your mother had passed. Believe me, if we had any knowledge that you existed, then you wouldn't have to be in all of those foster homes, I'm so sorry about that sweetie."
Sam took it all in, sighing to herself. "It's alright, I'm living with my boyfriend and his father now. They've been my family since I was fourteen." she looked up to Aunt Claire. "Well," Claire took a breath. "I was talking to my husband earlier today about moving out here, to keep in touch with you more. And we could all go down to Pennsylvania to visit everyone else in the family soon, you'd love it there. Seeing that you have a little one on the way, I think you'll need a little extra help. So, what do you say?"
Sam's eyes widened and she jumped out of her chair, quickly hugging her aunt. "Yes Aunt Claire, yes! That would be the most amazing thing ever!" she started to feel tears run down her cheek--she was going to be in touch with the rest of her family, and it felt so good. Aunt Claire laughed. "Alright sweetheart, I'll tell my husband. We'll have to go back down to Pennsylvania to move all of our things and say goodbye to everyone--and tell them about you--but we'll be back up here before you know it. Give me a call soon and we'll talk."
Claire stood up and so did Sam. She hugged her aunt the tightest she'd ever hugged anyone in a long time. "I love you Aunt Claire." Sam smiled. "I love you too sweetheart." her aunt replied. She waved goodbye to Sam and walked out of the coffee shop. Sam was genuinely happy, something that she rarely felt, but loved feeling. Everything felt right in the world, and she hoped that nothing would mess it up.
