Am I a horrible person for being irritated that I was tapped to help tomorrow with “bring your sons and daughters to work day“ when I don’t have kids.

And I’m in a lot of the same meetings that half of the parents are

And the majority of people that they’re making help do not have kids

And I was told I cannot bring my son (the son in question)

My OG, favorite gorl, #1, is crossing the rainbow bridge on Thursday.

After talking to the Vet, she agreed that this would be best for her.

She’s 16. Would be 17 in July. But she can’t jump up on stuff. She falls constantly on the hardwood or the tile. We tried to put her on a pain med, but it made her drunk, which meant more falling and flailing around. We could try other meds, but they’re gonna have the same loopy effect, so we are limited in options to try and make her comfortable.

I’ve known for just over a week and I am struggling. She’s the first dog that I have had since she was a puppy who has been my dog. Not the family dog. My. Dog. We were supposed to live forever together. She promised.

I don’t know what I’m gonna do without her. I still have her rambunctious, younger “brother” demon dog. Scared to see how he acts as an only child. But she’s the best and I’m not ready.

This sucks and is so so so hard.

It’s snowing in Florida right now. Like, not just flurries. Snow. On the ground. Still coming down. From the sky.

I thought the dogs would be most shocked but what little there was earlier they couldn’t have cared less. Turns out i am most shocked.

In completely UNRELATED news, Crocs are not an all terrain shoe.

Update: The business end of a swiffer works pretty good at getting snow/ice off a car (aided by heat bumping in the car).

My office threw me a birthday party yesterday 🥹🥹🥹 There was also charcuterie and cupcakes in the afternoon, a PowerPoint with baby pics my sis forked over, and a memento video with little messages from a bunch of people.

I kept it together in the office, but, boy howdy, did I lose it on the way home and again today watching the video.
