  "I think… you should finish your plate young lady." He gave her ass a playful pat and kissed the corner of her mouth. He was a stickler for not wasting food and also because if they were to do anything that would ‘distract’ him, they might as well have something to burn off in the process. Though it had been quite some time for the two of them to be intimate, it wasn’t often recently that Tai was gone for more than two days so Rita having him longer this time around was a blessing.

Sam laughed at his comment and the butt tap and scooted said butt off his laugh and into the chair next to him.  She took another sip of her wine and took her first bite humming at how good it was.  The longer that they were together the better his taste in italian food was getting so that seemed like a win for her.  

"So what are your plans for this weekend so far?" She asked in between bites, trying to see what he would say given their recent decisions about what to do with themselves this weekend.  She sort of hoped he would alot some time for reconnecting as she hadn't had much time with him recently.

“Umm, Me and my girlfriend broke up a few months ago and I’m still a bit sore about it.” Malcolm asked as he closed his laptop. He wasn’t sure if he really wanted to talk about Athena to a complete stranger. He had a hard time talking about her with his sister. “I really don’t think you want to hear about my problems. You would probably die of boredom.” He smiled.

Sam smiled back at him, and nodded in understanding.  "Well the offer still stands, or if you just want to drink and not talk about your problems that sofffer stands too.  You look like a man who needs to get out more.  Ive lived here a year and never seen you out at the bars or clubs. " She laughed a little and smiled. She packed up her laptop and put it into her computerbag making sure everything was put away prperly and smiled a little nervously trying t osee what the plan would be.

  He was happy they were able to come to an agreement, for the most part, and just let things flow as they would. He was just hoping that this would be the best solution for their relationship overall. He sat back in his chair to relax and chat her up. “Work has been interesting since I started overseeing everything at the company. The move of the main branch here was the best decision I’ve made so far, makes it easier to compete with other agencies competition-wise.” David wasn’t going to tell her that he offered a partnership to Luke. God knew she would be a little more than annoyed by him even doing so.

"I will say with the impending wedding that my cousin’s happy to let a lot of the work fall to me. I know he’s doing his best to please Rebecca but I think he’s forgetting she’s not that high maintenance. He wants to go all out for the ceremony in February."

Sam nodded in understanding as he talked about the changes to his co pany.  She was happy that he was taking an interest more and that since they had moved the HQ to new york he could keep a closer eye on the business his parents built for him.  

"Well, men in love do crazy things." Sam commented with a smile and a kiss to his cheek.  "It's just nice to see them all so happy, and be ale to have a wedding to get all excited about." She commented with a smile.  "So now that all the ugly is out of the way should we eat? Or do I have a chance to distract you fully?" She smiled at him the old light back in her eyes as she asked not that subtly to start playing some of their games.

  "We’ve got this Sam. No one is going to do anything to cause turbulence in our relationship… and we do need a little us time." David was happy to have her park herself on top of him as he stroked her arms gently and placed a kiss on her temple. It was great to spend the time they had together with Tai, but sometimes some unwinding for the two of them was necessary. He would make sure that happened in the near future.

"All people need to know is that we’ve given the green light of an open relationship. What we do in our time is our business."

Sam smiled at him as he kissed her temple, most of her earlier worries being pushed away as she decided just to enjoy what they had. whatever happened, happened and she didn't need to stress about it now.

"Well we will tell them when it needs to be said, but for tonight let's just enjoy each other." She commented kissing him gently on the lips.  "SO how has work been for you my love? Campaign season has made me so very busy that I havent given my love enough time to just talk to and I'd like to rectify some of that tonight if that's okay." She kissed him sweetly if not a little pri primly as she waited for a response.

  "Your antivirus is now set to run every morning at 6 am." Malcolm said after hitting a few keys on the keyboard. He started a scan on her computer just to make sure there was nothing else wrong. He really didn’t want to give her a reason to get angry again. 

"There is no one at home. I was actually thinking of getting a pet or something to keep me company." Malcolm said as he finally looked up from her screen. She didn’t look angry any more. "Did you get a new job? You said something about changes."

"Thank you " Sam said quietly in response to the antivirus.  Now she had her computer fixed and her boss would be happy with her.  How could it get better than that?  She listened quietly as he talked about how he was thinking about getting a pet.  "Well if you want to borrow my cat or my boyfriends son's dog for a day I'm sure you could"  She smiled at him gently.

"No new job for me...just some personal stuff. " She shrugged a little pursing her lips at the thought.  She dind't want to burden him so she was kind of just pushed the emotions aside.  "You seemed upset about there being now one at home, something you want to talk about? I have time for coffee or something.

  "I’m Malcolm."  He replied as he plugged the flash drive he had found in his desk into her laptop. He quickly saved a copy of her work on it. He pulled it out and handed it to her. "I saved your work to this along with the computer. You can keep it for emergencies. I recommend always keeping a back up of your work."

He shrugged at her apology. “It’s okay. I’m use to people being frustrated with their computer problems. It’s a normal part of my day. You just seemed extra angry about it.” He explained as he pulled up the antivirus to get it all set up.

"Thank you"Sam commented quietly, she put the flash drive in her purse vowing to send it when she got home.  When he mentioned being extra angry she sighed. Sam sat down in her chair crosing her legs primly and commented. "Yeah sorry about that....it's been a difficult week and I shouldn't have taken i tou on you.  I'm not good with change and there have been a lot of them recently."

She bit her lip a little nervously and commented brightly "welll Enough about me, I'm sure you just want to get my anti computery thing ready and fixed and get your ass out of her e and home to whomever and whatever you choose" She breathed a laugh and smiled at him a little brightly trying to make the moment less awkward.

"Oh…" he was quiet and contemplative of her words. He knew Samantha. She hated being vulnerable even after all this time had gone by, she was still afraid to show that side of herself. So when she opened up like this it hurt his heart and he felt like the worst man in existence. But they needed moments like this, to talk everything out even when one of them felt it would cause more trouble than it was worth. 

David put a hand on her shoulder and rubbed it gently. “Sam? You shouldn’t ever feel like you’d push me away. If you need to vent, just do it. Tell me everything! I’m a big boy, I can handle your lashing out because I know it isn’t directed at me. As for gossips… quite frankly, fuck them.” It was a lot less poetic when he didn’t say the infamous line of not giving a damn but he hated bad gossip in the Tower. “What we do in our time and our relationship is between us. If you’re scared of someone threatening you or hurting you, I’ll personally handle it.” In this case, it might be best to bring up the open relationship topic to Draven… and it would trickle to Grace if they didn’t get a chance to talk first. Alex too, though he cared for Sam as a friend so he wouldn’t be too annoyed by the news.

Sam looked up at him as he rubbed her shoulder gently.  She couldn't help but be scared of everyone. and she sure as hell didn't want to share their persnal lives with the whole damn tower.  Because once it got to one pwerson it would spread like wild fire.

"Okay." Sam said quietly her hand linking with his fingers as she moved to see if he'd let her sit in his lap. "Promise me though that we will continue to try to make more time for eachother as well. "  She smiled at him stroking his face gently feeling better after her mini outburst, knowing that once he held her again she would feel like everything was mostly right again.

"Im not angry David" Sam said quietly. Honestly she was more hurt than angry. Surely the anger would come eventually but right now she just felt like she had failed them.

The fact that he was just sitting there killed her. She just really wanted him to hold her and tell...

Sam felt her breath catch when he caught her hand. The words fixing at least part of the hurt. Sighing she sat back down tucking her knees against her chest "I guess I'm feeling worried. And sad and upset with myself more than anything." She commented to him her eyes showing everything. "I feel like I failed us by being too busy and pushing you away. And I feel like I didn't give you enough. Like I pushed you away when I should have held on". She took a deep breath. "With work being so stressful I just didn't want to say something to hurt you. I know that I lash out when stressed and I didn't want to say something wrong. " she bit her lip momentarily befoew more thoughts came out. "And I'm scared of what the gossips will say. We all know my reputation and many people here habe threatened to kill me if I don't treat you well enough and If I make a wrong move and someone sees me with a person that is not you. I become public enemy number one again. And I hate that" she said quietly letting some of the hurt and worry that had started eating at her since the beginning of this conversation show through

Samantha heeded the nervous man’s words as he told her to sit. SHe sat primply on the office chair crossing her ankles primly as she not so calmly waited. She needed this fixed asap so that she could turn in thsi article and spend time with her boys.

Samantha calmed considerably when he showed her the file with all her work saved. "Oh yes that is right. Thank you so much" she smiled at him genuinely this time her body relaxing and her earlier temper dying. Sam looked at the man... She realized she didn't even know his name. She could see that she had scared him and she realized she needed to rectify that quickly. "I'm Samantha by the way. " she commented softly. "I'm sorry if I scared you. Campaign season has me all flustered". She smiled at him wryly and hoped she could stop scaring him soon.

Sam didn’t take the teasing well, her eyes frosted over a little and she pushed away from the table standing and starting to pace around the room her whole body tense.

She in theory knew that she was his and he was hers but somewhere along the way it felt like she had...

Malcolm grew even more nervous with the angry woman standing behind him. He really hoped he could fix this, he didn’t want to see what would happen if he couldn’t fix it. He focused his full attention on his laptop. No one ever came down to his office he was so used to being called to people’s apartments. Having someone in his office felt like a violation of his personal space. The last person that was in his office besides himself was his sister. “You can sit down if you’d like.” Malcolm said as he nodded to one of the empty office chairs. He typed a few commands into her computer and bit down on his bottom lip. It looked like everything was gone but there was still one more place he could check. “Antivirus is easy. I can set it to run on its own so you won’t even need to worry about it.”

He was glad to see they were on the same page, happy to know she wasn’t completely ready to wring his neck. And willing to compromise. She would be getting just as much out of this as he would, they both had their needs and sometimes one of them was unavailable to the other. This was the solution they needed. His smile slowly turned to a frown as he could tell by her wavering voice that the resolve she was showing was not all quite as there as he thought.

"I can definitely agree… and that goes for any functions. You’re mine and I’m yours Sam. You don’t need to worry about my eye wandering to anyone else… now if you were ever up for a threesome or something…" David trailed off, teasing her a little.

  Malcolm just stood there staring at the angry and demanding woman standing in his office doorway. He looked down at the laptop and shrugged. He was about to tell the woman to take her computer problems elsewhere, but she was scary and Malcolm was afraid of her. He put the laptop on his desk and turned it on. “Did you back up your work, at all?” Malcolm asked. He was already afraid of what her answer was going to be. “I can check your computers back up files. Usually your computer should back up your files after a few minutes.”

"It's supposed to back up every 5 minutes. But apparently that didn't happen" Sam remarked coldly. SHe didn't care is she was cscaring the man. She was angry, cranky, tired, horny and hungry.  Yes she could fix most of those things with a trip home but right now this was the problem that needed fixing.

She followed the man into his apartment and stood with her hands on her hips leg popped scowling over him.  "Also can you tell me how to run a virus scan on this thing.  I don't think i've done that in awhile andmy boss keeps saying something about how i need to make sure I don't have any malware that could access my articles before they're published.... can you help with that too?" She queried some of ther nervous agitation creeping through the anger.

It was 6:30, Malcolm decided that he probably wasn’t going to be needed for the rest of the day. He started packing up his things and turning most of the monitors off.  He did one final check of the towers systems to make sure everything was up and running. He didn’t want to be woken up in the middle of the night because the Bars’ computers went down. Speaking of the bar, he thought maybe he should stop there and see Sophie. But then he thought that it was probably a bad idea. 

There was a knock on the door distracting him from his thoughts. He wondered who would be looking for him. A little tiny part of him hoped that it was Athena, back for good. But he knew that would never happen. He opened the door and found a woman standing there looking very angry. Malcolm had seen her around the tower before but he had never spoken to her. Actually he barely spoke to anyone. 

"Er….Can I help you?" He asked, wondering what he did to make this woman so mad.

"This Goddamn thing is being awful, and deleted half of my work for the evening. Fix It" Sam said to the attractive man, noting quietly that although the kind of geeky he was attractive in the rumpled, scruffy way.  She thrust the laptop into his hands.

Raising an eyebrow at him she waited for a response, feeling her phone buzz she pulled it out and answered an email quickly before texting David. "Computer Issues, be home when they're fixed.  There is dinner for Tai in the fridge that I made this morning" Her nails flying over the keys at a breakneck pace as her whole body telegraphed her tension.  "Well?" She asked him "How do I  fix it?"

Her reaction had been a lot better than he hoped, and he was well aware that she was going to have some ground rules if they were to make this change in their relationship. “Of course, anything. Just name your rules and I’ll abide by them.” David reached for her hand and brought it his lips to kiss her knuckle, rubbing the skin gently. 

"Tai won’t have to know… well, not now. At least not until he’s older." That would be a strange conversation to have with a teenage Tai Garret but he wouldn’t keep it from him. He hated lying to his son about anything. "I will say that we should keep our shenanigans out the penthouse, keep this place for us. It’s our home after all."

Sam smiled as he rubbed her knuckles and kissing her hand.  She nodded as he said that they wouldn't be telling Tai just quite yet.  She didn't really want to explain that to the young boy because that sounded way too complicated.  

"That was going to be one of my rules," Sam said about the keeping it out of the penthouse "I love you but I don't want to be worrying about what you did with someone else in our bed" She smiled at him and bit her lip.  "Also, I say we both come home every night.  Sleeping with the other person is too date like if we're agreeing to outside casual sex. " Dropping his hand she started worrying her fingers trying how to best ask for the last thing.  "Also." Her voice started getting quiet as she lost the control on some of her hurt "At tower functions can we agree to only look, no touching at those points?  I want to know on major holidays that I'm going to have your attention for most of the night."  She looked up at him in the end to make sure he was still okay with her requests.

Her boss was usually a pain in the ass, but he knew that the meant well. For the most part anyway. He smiled some knowing that even though work was stressful she did indeed have something to come home to… and he hoped his suggestion wouldn’t break what they did have. David poured them both a half glass of wine before he answered her. “Well, I usually spoil you whenever I want but tonight I have an agenda. And I want you to look at it with an open-mind.”

He cleared his throat, knowing that what he was going to tell her might make her upset at first but he if worded himself right he might come out a little less scathed. “I have a friend who I went out to lunch with the other day, and we had a nice little chat. I learned that they were in an open relationship with their lover and how they made things work with some rules and regulations… and I was thinking since we both end up so busy at times that maybe we could practice that same kind of mentality? At least sexually… and I suppose that would be my only real rule. To not fall in love with anyone else because I know I’m still crazy about you Sammy.”

Sam nodded at the open mind comment. The more and more he tried to soothe her she was getting more nervous.  When he started talking about an open relationship her stomach dropped a little.  She took a sip of her wine trying to form her response, but couldn't help but smile a little whe nhe said he was still completely in love with her.  Keeping the calm demeanor her brain spun trying to work this little kink into their lives and make it work.

After taking a moment to organize her thoughts, she responded. "If that will make you happy...okay...But I'm going to have a few more rules than that." Her brain was already trying to figure out how to make this work without either o them getting crushed by the gossips in the tower, and how to kee pherself from having another ugly scene with Draven. Because if he thought she was cheating on david he would probably kill her and that was a lot to handle.

Sam took another sip of her wine before remarking "And to Tai everything looks normal right? I've worried the poor kid enough recently with my trip, and not giving him enough time with sammy. I don't want to hurt him." Her body a little rigid with shock she set the wine glass down and looked to david hoping he would soothe her worries.

"Shit Fuckery." Samantha cursed at her laptop as the damn thing decided to delete the paragraphs she had been editing for the last 30 minutes. It was 6pm and she didn't want to go home because poor David an Tai didn't deserve her icy anger right now, and she was not in a state of mind to be nice. Sam tried valiantly to do the control z and undo things but to no avail, finally after ten more minutes of swearing and general anger she slammed it shut and packed her bag for the night.

Full of agitation she took her car back to the tower and once inside she looked around and decided to go hunt this tech guy down.  Maybe he could get the damn thing back.  Venturing down into the basement Sam's icy anger grew. Once she was there she knocked on the door and pulled out her laptop waiting impatiently her ice blue eyes even icier with anger.
