2020/21
Things I did in 2020 I’d never done before:
- Taught GCSE English classes at a further education college
- Completed Portal and Portal 2 (I’m terrible at those games, but I had a LOT of free time this year)
- Attended parties on Zoom
- Acrylic pouring (I want to do more of this)
- Baked banana bread
- Bleached and dyed somebody else’s hair (he looked fabulous)
- Found a couple of four-leaf clovers and a five-leaf clover
- Made a crochet pig
- Did a plank for almost a minute
- Woke up on Christmas morning in a different house from my parents
We lost Cleo this year, but her memory will always make me smile:
2020 has been mixed for me. My professional and social lives have been on hold since March, I miss my friends like crazy, I haven’t seen any live music since February and I’m very sad that I haven’t been able to hug my niece in almost a year. On the other hand, my partner moved in with me this year, and we’ve both had a lot of free time to spend together, so our relationship has blossomed. It wasn’t all wonderful, and there were some very difficult times, but those are past. Now the thought of him not living here feels as weird as the thought of him living here felt back in May.
My hope for 2021 is that my loved ones and I will survive whatever these next 12 months may throw at us. I also want to keep creating art.
