Cade kept glancing at Niko anxiously. He didnât know what to do, Samâs MC was their only ticket out of the Russians but they were outnumbered. He thought about the guns that had been taken from the MC at the door, he knew they were being guarded and even with those, there wasnât enough guys to use them. The vaguely intelligent part of Cade knew that doing anything drastic would just get all of them killed, something he desperately wanted to avoid.
Rory stopped cold when he realised theyâd been seen. His anger immediately went to Nero for being caught, though that was quickly overshadowed by concern when he was pulled away from them. This did not sit well with Sharky, who was immediately struggling against his own restraints. Cade swallowed hard and quickly glanced at Sam, just as he felt a gun being pressed into his hand. Someone whispered in his ear to keep it trained on Sharky, which only make the situation all the more difficult. Cade reluctantly went and stood nearer to Sharky, the gun pointed in his direction. He could feel Sharky stabbing him with his eyes.
Niko knew he had to figure out a way to get that knife away from Anton before Nero got his throat slit and all hell would break loose. Though, the latter of that was probably unavoidable at this point so it was a matter of figuring out a way where it was the lesser of two evils. Cade had a gun in his hand and that was finally one thing in their favor. âYou wonât walk away from this one. I promise you.â Shit. Shit shit shit.Â
Luckily for Niko, he could think quickly on his feet and under pressure so he stepped forward and spoke to Anton. âLet me do it. Youâve been questioning my loyalty, so let me prove it.â Niko had no intentions of doing that, per say. He knew that Nero was as good as dead if Anton was the one wielding the knife but Nero stood a fighting chance if Niko could do it precisely right. Anton smirked and handed Niko the knife and he spared a glance at Cade, trying to wordlessly communicate that once he made the cut, he needed to shoot Anton but that was a lot to convey in a simple nod of his head.Â
Nero stared back at Rosko, wanting to give him one last glance at the man he loved before his life was stripped away from him. He turned to look at Niko, who was looking at him apologetically or maybe that was just a figment of his imagination. Within the next second, Nero felt the flash of white hot pain when the blade cut across his stomach and he cried out in pain. His blood spilled onto the floor at his feet and he couldnât help but lean into Niko who had pulled him close, whispering, âIâm so sorry.â Over and over again into his ear as his own knees grew weak and he wouldâve collapsed over if Niko hadnât been holding onto him.Â
