I Compared a Few Platforms and Kept Coming Back

I'll be honest, I did the rounds before settling in. I tried a couple of the names everyone mentions, candy.ai and ourdream.ai among them, and they're fine in their own right. But when it came to actually designing a companion who felt like she came out of my own head, SweetDream was the one that kept pulling me back. The character creation just goes further.

On sweetdream.ai you're shaping everything that matters, the appearance, the personality, the little quirks, the voice, the backstory that gives her context. And it doesn't stop at setup. The chat is remarkably natural and emotionally tuned, it remembers what you've shared, and the AI-generated photos and videos look beautiful. There are even voice messages and human-sounding calls when you want to hear her.

What sealed it for me was how private and discreet the whole thing stays. Building an AI girlfriend feels personal, and it should stay personal. If you're weighing your options for an AI companion, do what I did, try a few, then build something on SweetDream and see why it's hard to leave.

I don't have too many WIPs right now, but here's a little bit from an original story that I tinker with sometimes: --- When Reggie approaches her on the docks, he strides with that same arrogance that she knows leaves many of her followers saying he has no right to act the way he does around her – as if he’s equal to a goddess. But Hedone is quite literally hedonism. What the others don’t realise is that she would choose Reggie over them and their simpering any day of the week. His confidence in pursuing what he wants is like catnip to her.

Yet she doesn’t turn around to face him just yet, continuing her steady gaze over the ocean. He needs to work for it.

And he will do.

Hey! I found your old list of Yu-Gi-Oh GX ship names on DeviantArt, and I'm curious about the reasoning for one in particular: Addictshipping for Asuka/Alexis and Yubel. How did you come up with it?

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that was one of the ones that I personally came up with. Gotta admit that I wasn't exactly running that list very well (it was roughly 16+ years ago that I was in the GX fandom haha) and I'd just kind of add whatever names people would send to me without vetting them too much If I had to take a guess now I'd say that maybe... the implication was that they were... addicted to Judai/Jaden...? But that feels pretty weak and there's easily better words for that than "addict". Also, I don't remember Asuka being that into Judai beyond the token shonen protag crush?

2024 Finished Reading List

(I wasn't sure where else to post this except here. Whatever the next social media jump is, I hope we all go back to something a bit more LiveJournal) Anyway! In September 2023 I relocated and my place of work turned out to have the most rotten wifi ever. So instead of getting angry at only ads loading during my breaks, I thought I'd start reading again. I follow the usual pipeline of "kid who used to read a lot of books discovered the Internet and then progressively stopped reading" and have spent the last... decade or so guiltily avoiding an ever-growing to-read pile I told myself to start a list and then post it at the start of 2025. Even if there was only one book on it, that's still one more book than I would've read otherwise. My list is a little longer than one book, thankfully. I also included manga, graphic novels and comics. Because who's going to stop me? The fun police? And sure, I know there are people out there who read more than this in a single month probably, but for me, I'm proud of what I've achieved I won't be keeping a list next year (though I will still be reading), because I worry that if I turn this into a thing it'll kill my desire to read again. But for this year, here's the list of stuff wot I read:
