But if there's one thing that I wish that IT instructors would always teach to their students, it's that attempting to recover hard drives on your own is never a good idea. When a hard drive has physically failed, it is a situation that you should walk away from. Get yourself a professional company to do the job for you. Don't try to recover raid servers with multiple failed drives, as an example. Get a raid data recovery company to do it for you. It's so much easier, and while it will cost the organization; that investment is always going to be worth it. Believe me on this.
