See you next year, Chicago!
So today I went shopping...
** Expectation:** Wake up at 7, go to a ballet class at 9, go to brunch, have a fun and productive day in the Loop.
** Reality:** I woke up at 8:30, missed the ballet class, returned my Balck Friday rejects to Zara, went to brunch, and went shopping. I cleaned my apartment, so that was me being a real adult, as one can (but shouldn't) expect of college seniors.
Anyway. I bought the cutest pair of boots from Bloomingdales. They're Dolce Vita booties with a beautiful cheetah print. You can get them here!
Aren’t they beautiful? They’re a little bit warmer in real life, but the lighting in my apartment is pretty stark. Oops?
I found this beautiful satiny pair of red Nike Air Force 1's at Nordstrom, and they didn't have my size. That said, I'm not too big on athleisure, but the only word I could use to describe them was "sick."
Good night! Sweet dreams all xx

Friday Five
Wear sneakers to formal. Your feet will thank you later. Even if they didn't bleed, your shoes will stain them unnecessarily.
Do your research in advance. It's fine to leave it to the almost last minute, but it's so much easier if you don't
You're never too old for drama, apparently. Just don't let it rule you.
Drink water. Water is good. Water is great. Hydration is important.
"Lit" is a word no should be using anymore. Why is it lit? How is it lit? Is an event on fire? That's worrisome. Just stop, don't use it.

Monday Musings
First thing's first, I suppose. I had a pretty good weekend. I had a lot of good food, tbh. I went to dinner at Beatnik, which I've been trying to get a reservation at FOREVER and managed to find one two days before I needed it. Figures. The best things are found when you least expect them. Or when you don't try at all, I suppose. Effort always does seem to kill the outcome, doesn't it? In my case, at least, it does. Anyways, I got dressed up and wore a semi fashion forwards outfit only to be met by a friend who was wearing posisbly the bougiest version of the lazy college students uniform ever. I mean, a mini Chanel chevron Boy bag, fuzzy Jimmy Choo boots that looked like Uggs, a sweatshirt that said Xanax, and leggings. I love her, but we are complete opposites in so many ways that I laugh everytime I remember she's one of my dearest friends. Had really great food, and that's all the really matters to me tbh!
Saturday morning was an early start, in which I continued the 9 am "brunch" tradition my oldest friend at college and I started this quarter. We met at the Allis, and once again I was wearing an incredibly ~extra~ outfit, only because I was told that she would be wearing a ~spicy~ outfit. This turned out to be false. I ended up looking like a cross between a 2008-2010 rock star and a same-era Disney character. 'Twas a look, to say the least. Had more great food. And lots of coffee. I can't really complain!
Sunday was, you guessed, also a food adventure. I started my day pretty early and active, where I had accumulated three hours of dance due to myh involvement in a couple of different cultural shows. I tried to do a lot of work, and I did just enough to satisfy the type-A in me. I ended my Sunday in Chinatown with a good group of friends who always make me feel funny. All your friends should make you feel good, but not all of them will make you feel funny, and those are the ones you should keep close. They'll come in handy when you need them.
Today, one of my friends got three job offers. That's great, and I'm extremely proud of her. But I can't say that I was not even a little bit jealous. Even though the jealousy only lasted for a second, it still happened. I keep having to consciously remid myself that I am not measured againstg anyone else except me,
In any case, there are a few things I've learned upon reflection.
You feel good when you look good. You also are more prone to being productive if you look like you mean business. So get at it! No more sweats, even if athleisure is still riding its high.
Eat good food. Enjoy it. Food is fuel and if you listen to your body you won't overdo it.
Keep at it. Keep working. Keep killing the game. You might not know everything you want to do, but you sure as hell know exactly who you want to be.
That's it from me today. As a footnote, I'm so effin excited for my formal this Wednesday and will probably post then. If anyone's reading this, I hope I don't sound like an idiot. If no one's reading this, that's also fine. I'm doing this for myself, and myself alone.
