Laurie nodded stiffly, nudging his temple against Sammy’s chin as the boy whispered. He hadn’t done much, so logically speaking there wasn’t much he could have done that was wrong. These were the things that he told himself.

"It seems like a good place." He gave Sammy a smile, sitting down and scooting in his chair. "I’m glad you found it"

"Good, I'm glad you like it" he said with a smile, before looking down to choose what he wanted to eat. "Do you know what you want?" He asked after a few minutes, when he had picked his own item.

"I didn’t that we were-" Laurie stared blankly, heart dropping past his stomach. "I mean- I mean. I didn’t? I thought?"

He looked around , smiling at the nice aura the restaurant had. He smiled, giving the hostess a nod hello. “It seems alright.”

"Hey, hey hey shh. I was joking kay?" Sammy said with a laugh, pulling Laurie close to him and kissing the boys forehead. "You didn't do anything wrong" he whispered, so only the boy could hear.

When the waitress came back, Sammy slipped his hand into Lauries and walked with him to the table, sitting down opposite him and smiling widely at him. "Good, I'm glad you like it"

"I’m … awkward and stumbly, what can I say." He nodded a thanks, trying to get past the moment. "I’m awkward and stumbly around everyone. It’s not a you thing, it’s a me thing. Never thought I’d say that, wow."

"Wow, it's not me it's you? Are you breaking up with me before our first date?" Sammy asked, his tone very teasing, as they walked into the building. Sammy talked to the lady at the entrance and confirmed his booking before turning back to Laurie when she went to get their table ready. "It'll only be a minute, so.... does it look okay?" he asked.

He smiled, shrugging hish shoulders awkward. “Yeah, just - sunburn. YOu know sunburn. I should get Aloe Vera. Not- Alo the guy. There’s a guy named Alo here, do you know him?”

"No, I can't say that I've met Alo. But you're getting awkward and stumbly again. I thought you knew you didn't have to be awkward and shy around me." he added, before dropping Laurie's hand to open the door to the restaurant.

“‘M not,” Laurie defended himself awkwardly, shrugging his shoulder up to his cheek. “I’m just- sunburnt. On my cheek specifically.”

"It didn’t have to be nice. It’s nice that it’s- nice," He squinted in how awkward the was to say."

"Okay, it didn't have to be nice. But it is nice, so get used to it." He said with a smile, dropping a kiss to Laurie's cheek. "Okay, sunburn. It has been pretty sunny lately so I guess I believe you" he said with a laugh.

"Someone might think it was funny, going there." Laurie pointed out, shrugging down with a flush on his cheeks. "It didn’t have to be special. It didn’t. Plus we’re students, I wouldn’t have been surprised if it were cheap."

"Oh no, it's still cheap... but it's like.... nice cheap. Y'know?" He said with a laugh, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "You're blushing" he pointed out.

"You did that?" Laurie asked, letting a whisper of surprise creep into his voice. He honestly didn’t think Sammy would go that far for a dinner with him. He thought maybe they would go to McDonalds, even, he wouldn’t even be surprised. "For this?"

"Of course I did" Sammy said with a smile, nudging Laurie slightly. "I wanted this to be special, first date and everything, it kinda has to be right?" he added. "I mean, I wasn't exactly going to take you to McDonalds"

He swallowed„ chewing on his lips with a hard look but he didn’t fight the grasp on his hand. He nodded, letting Sammy pull him along to the restaurant. “How’d you find it so soon? I mean, I’ve only found two places since I got here.”

"I might have asked one of the teachers where a good place for a date would be" he admitted, looking down at the ground with a small laugh. "So.... I guess I didn't really find it, more was told about it" he said, looking over at the other boy.

"Oh! Italian is great," Laurie grinned biting down on his lip. He shrugged, digging his toe again down into the ground. "No, no. You look good. I like your shirt."

"Okay awesome great. Yeah" He said, mirroring Laurie's expression. "Oh uh... thanks" Sammy said, a slight blush forming on his cheeks. "So uh... yeah let's go" Sammy said, reaching over and grabbing Laurie's hand, intertwining their fingers as they started to walk.

"Oh," Laurie spun around, surprised. He smiled, giving a small wave as he stood up. Sammy looked pretty good- though the dimpled boy- he wouldn’t go there. "Yeah, yeah I am. Are you?"

Laurie grinned, shoving his hands in his pockets. Laurie smiled awkwardly, tossing his head so his hair got out of his eyes. “I don’t know exactly where we’re going, though.”

Sammy nodded when Laurie stood up, "Yeah, yeah I'm ready" he said as he casually looked at what the other boy was wearing. "You look nice" he decided with a smile. "Oh uh right, well I found this nice little Italian restaurant in town, I hope that's okay?" he asked, suddenly nervous that he had planned something the other boy wouldn't like.

Laurie was nervous. He hadn’t gone a proper date in a long while, well. He wasn’t very old, anyway. He wasn’t sure if this was a “proper date,” whatever. He put on nice pair of jeans, and a good jacket.

Laurie bit down on his lip. He wasn’t sure if he should be nervous or not- but Sammy was pretty sweet. And that was a good thing, he thought. Unless the sweet thing was an act. In the end he had mace in his pocket, so he could bolt if need be. Laurie waited in the quad, digging his running shoes in the dirt as he waiting.

Sammy couldn't help but be nervous, and he wasn't entirely sure why he was. Yeah, it had been a while since he had been on a date, but Laurie seemed sweet, so the other boy wasn't going to do anything bad, was he? He put on his favourite shirt and a pair of jeans, before heading out of his room to meet the other boy.

When he entered the quad he noticed the other boy, who currently had his back to him, so he quickly walked over to him, a smile spreading across his face. "Hey you, ready to go?"
