Book Review Template
I finished this earlier today. As far as I can remember this is my first dark romance book. 🤔 I love the character names I this novel. Especially Kallias's dog Demodocus. The last 40 pages had me on the edge of my seat. This was definitely worth the read and I'll be starting the sequel soon. ☺️
Book Review Template
I may recommend this book. However, this is one to read at YOUR OWN RISK! The heavy topics within this book is r@pe and depression. The traumatic event isn't described right away. It's heavily hinted at in the beginning. It's towards the end when Melinda describes exactly what happened. I reached that scene today(05/29/2026)and I was crying. I didn't care that I was in public, around strangers. I was reading while my sister was kayaking. My heart hurt for Melinda. She started freshman year with everyone disliking her. All her friends abandoned her. No one knew what truly happened until she was ready to speak up. My sister recommended this one to me with the warning that it will emotionally destroy me. She was right. I took emotional damage. 😭
Isn't it odd how much fatter a book gets when you've read it several times? As if something were left between the pages every time you read it. Feelings, thoughts, sounds, smells... and then, when you look at the book again many years later, you find yourself there too.. a slightly younger self, slightly different, as if the book had preserved you like a pressed flower... both strange and familiar.

Since my last library update, I've bought 11 physical books and 1 Kindle book. 🥰 So, as of today, I own 506 physical books and 17 Kindle books. 💖 This count includes physical webtoon books, danmei, mahua, and manga.
Life of a Reader (03/09/2026)
This was bought on a whim last month. It is a special edition, so it was wrapped with some goodies. Well, I thought to take a glance through it now and noticed some words got blacked out. 🤔 From what I can tell it’s only these pages.
As a librarian I know that a lot of people get scared or embarrassed about telling us that they damaged a book, but I need everyone to know that it actually has a really important reason, particularly for water damage, like if you got the book wet. Tears and such are relatively mild problems depending on the rarity of the book, but wet paper molds very easily, so if you get a book wet and we don't know, it can mold and that mold can spread to other books and potentially become a health and safety hazard.
So when librarians tell you to report any damage, please don't be too scared to! We're not going to yell at you, there are actual reasons why we need to know!!

I started this beautiful gem yesterday(8/08/2025). I watched the series The Untamed in 2022. I love it! I also started collecting the Manhua for it. I'd like to buy all available copies of that before starting it. For now, I'll read the danmei.
