The saddest thing about my life is that I started reading the maze runner trilogy totally believing newtmas was canon. I was 100% sure those two would kiss. No one introduced me to non-canon ship. No one explained me THAT.

I'm imagining this as a moment in the few days of peace in the Glade, before the Ending was triggered.

They're just getting to know each other— sitting down, taking a break from working the field, and it's warm outside and the sun is hitting just right. It's in this stillness that Newt's breath catches, and he doesn't quite know why. But he thinks something has shifted, something new and unknown, and he knows he can't go back to whoever he was before the moment had passed.
