Part 1 || Part 3
About Y/n
"Hm? You wanna know about Y/n? They're one of my favorites to spar with. They're pretty fast for someone who's not a trained knight... I wonder if I could convince them to use real weapons with me..."
About Y/n: Sparring
"In our last sparring session, Y/n managed to pin me down, seeing them over me... all roughed up... heh... I think it's altered my brain chemistry..."
About Y/n: Crush?
"Ah~ Observant one, aren'tcha? I will admit, I'm a little sweet on them, but it's nothing that gets in the way. Oh, and if you say a word about this to anyone... I'll put you through the same training as my men, except ten times worse. Capisce?"
About Y/n
"Ah! Y/n is one of my favorites to see in the crowd. They try to make it to each of my performances; I think I do much better once I see their face amongst my adoring fans. I've asked them to join me on stage a few times, but alas, they never agree."
About Y/n: Flirting
"Hm? Ahaha, I wouldn't say I flirt with them, and I doubt they'd think of it that way. Unless... did they say that I was flirting with them? U-uhm, not that it's make too much of a difference to me... haha..."
About Y/n: Crush?
"I-i wouldn't say it's a crush... more like... an admiration... of everything about them... nothing crush-like about that, right? Right?"
About Y/n
"Any particular reason you're asking? Y/n is... a good acquaintance. That's all I have to say about them."
About Y/n: Hate?
"Do I... hate Y/n? Please, I only reserve such an emotion for the truly vile. Y/n comes nowhere near that."
About Y/n: Crush?
"Where the hell did you get that idea from? I don't... I definitely don't... have feelings for them... what's that look for? Say my face is red one more time and you're gonna regret it."
About Y/n
"Y/n's a lovely soul, through and through. I wouldn't doubt they'd become a part of a bard's poem in the future, they're just that sweet!
About Y/n: Writing Songs
"Have I ever written a song about Y/n? W-well, I write a lot of songs! I don't know why you're singling out them in particular..."
About Y/n: Crush?
"Me? Have a crush? Never~! Hehe, all joking aside, I guess I haven't been hiding it very well, have I? Whoops~"
About Y/n
"Y/n visits me often... no matter how many times I tell them not to."
About Y/n: Cooking
"Y/n has taken up making Almond Tofu for me everyday. I keep explaining that I don't need that much food... but I can't deny their hardwork, it'd be a waste."
About Y/n: Crush?
"Uh- ngh- Don't ask such a ridiculous question. I couldn't- I could never- I... I would never hold them back with such trivial emotions."
About Y/n
"Y/n is quite wonderful. They often visit the funeral parlor just to chat and catch up. I hope they come by soon. I found a tea I believe they'll enjoy."
About Y/n: Stories
"Y/n often joins me for tea, they like to ask a lot of questions pertaining to Liyue's history, which I'm more than happy to share, they always look so happy when I tell them about the stories of old."
About Y/n: Crush?
"Hm? A crush, you say? Perhaps I do. But I doubt that that's any of your business."
Hihi fellas. It may come as surprising, but this one here is actually an author. (LOL)
And as a die-hard Lohen fan, she couldn't hold herself back from writing a fanfic of him. (LOL X 2)
SO, I'm thinking about publishing this story.
The Vice-Captain's Princess || Lohen
Synopsis: You were known by many names.
The Captain of the Fifth Company of the Knights of Favonius. The cold, disciplined woman with impossibly high standards. Or as the locals said, Vice-Captain Lohen's girl.
When Lohen heard it, though, he'd always correct them.
"Vice-Captain Lohen's Princess."
A title you earned without even trying.
You were a girl with a rather cold, disciplined and no-tolerance-for-nonsense personality. And somehow, when you were kids, you became friends with this menace.
What's even stranger is that, even now, he still finds his ways to be with you. And it seems like, you can't find a way to drive him away.
Lemme know what you fellas think about it. And if you want to be added to my LOHEN FIC TAGLIST, then kindly let me know, or if you'd like to be added to my general taglist, clarify that as well.
Special mention : @xdigitalnyan , cz I saw a post of her wanting a "Lohen x Himedere Fanfic", and kinda got inspired huhu.
in which, you're stuck between your daughter and husband's argument, and the only bridge between your daughter's emotions and lohen's paranoia is you.
contents. lohen x gn!reader, dad!lohen, bad parenting (possibly physical abuse? like forced training), angst, happy ending, lohen story quest spoilers, descriptions/mentions of child trafficking/kidnapping + abuse, trauma, reader hinted to have neglectful/abusive parents, lohen kind of immature, daughter is unnamed (you can name her however you want !!), no beta i lowkey pulled whatever out my arse
Your daughter and husband refuse to talk to each other.
Only you received greetings whenever Lohen left or arrived home; your daughter went as far as avoiding the front door like the plague. Dinner times were draped in thick silence with Lohen's gaze fixated on his daughter, while hers avoided his at all costs. Cutlery spoke more than they did.
Today, she finally felt like talking again, just not to him. "How was your day?" She said to you, with stew on her face.
You wiped it off with a serviette, relieved she was comfortable enough to speak again. "It was nice. What about you, darling?"
She mumbled her gratitude before excitement gushed out her words. "I went to Millhaven! They have so many pretty flowers. I made a flower crown, can I show you after dinner?"
"Of course!" You beamed back, enamoured by her wonder. "I'd love to see it."
She resumed lapping up her stew, bringing the bowl to her mouth.
"Millhaven?" Lohen asked, the first time he uttered a word at dinner for a while. "You were in Millhaven?"
Something was off about his tone.
Your daughter was undeterred by this, or simply did not care. "Yeah? So what."
Lohen scoffed, tossing his spoon on the table. "Who were you with?"
"By myself."
"And you didn't think to tell either of us?"
Now, your daughter was alarmed, her eyes were wide with fear, and she clenched onto her spoon. "'m a big girl now."
"You're six. And why are you being so calm?" He snapped at you, standing up and toppling his chair over, the hands trembling from the sheer force. "God, this is soâ"
Your daughter did the same, pushing off her chair to run to you. "Stop being mean."
Lohen retaliated before you could intervene. "First you slack off on training and now you run off wherever. What a daughter you are."
With a final scoff, he walked away, ignoring the chair on the floor and his unfinished dinner.
The venomous words left her crying, and she bolted away to her room.
Your heart sank, as you cleaned up the mess and worried endlessly about her, and their relationship.
It all started a few days ago, a few weeks after your daughter's sixth birthday.
Lohen had immediately organised a training plan for her, an immaculate system for learning combat skills. It was toned down for her age, yet accounted for pretty much every possible survival scenario.
But of course, no kid wants to train martial arts, maybe learn a little bit, try out a move or two, but it's not fun when the Vice Captain of the Fifth Company himself aims to make you invincible. It only took a few days for her to argue back, and never attend his training again, with you as her approval.
As you gave her time to calm down, you picked out some apples from the fruit basket, the ripest ones, before cutting them up.
Her door creaked open, with the apple slices in your hand as an offering. "Are you alright...?"
She was curled up in bed, cuddling a bunny plushie, one that Lohen himself won at a Windblume event. Her whimpering bled through despite burying her face, until she peeled it away to look at you.
Her eyes were throbbing with pink, the tip of her nose matching. She pounced on the apple slices after you offered them, munching away contently.
You sat there waiting, giving her reign of the conversation.
After downing an apple, she mumbled while chewing. "Why is daddy being so mean to me? Training isn't even fun. Everything hurts and playing dolls with him is better."
You sighed, wiping away a trickle of juice from the corner of her mouth. "Dunno. 'll figure it out for you soon, okay?"
She clung onto your shirt, snuggling closer. "You need to fix him. I miss when he was nice to me."
"I will. I promise." You fingers ran through her hair and drifted downwards to stroke her back. "I'll sort this out f'you, alright? You can take all the time you need before you talk to him again."
You left the apples on her bedside table, before checking up on her one last time, and heading for your shared bedroom with Lohen.
(There was an inkling as to why Lohen was behaving this way. You let it wait at the back of your mind before jumping to conclusions.)
The door pushed open, and you didn't bother knocking. Much like your daughter, Lohen was in bed too, only sprawled out like a starfish.
No words were exchanged, as you walked to the bed and sat on your side. He shuffled over, before rolling on his side, away from you.
"What's going on with you? First training and now this."
Lohen didn't respond.
"You can't force her to do things she doesn't want to do. You out of all people know that."
His childhood was composed of demands and expectations, without a sliver of freedom. Commands to pray every morning and a life long order to inherit a family business he did not care for. Lohen hated being controlled, and any attempts to do so.
He still didn't respond, grunting half heartedly.
You didn't want to resort to this. Though it was true, it was far too personal of a truth to weaponise.
Nausea bubbled in your stomach, and you knew the aftermath of your words wouldn't be pretty. "You're acting just like your parents."
It hit him hard. Lohen shot up straight and turned to you, hollow eyes livid, hurt, and scared, all at once.
"That's differentâyou know that's different."
"Lohen. It's not. You can't contrâ"
"Fucking hell, what else do you want me to do? You want your own kid to be defenceless?"
You flinched. He's never raised his voice this much. Regret, fear, inadequacy harrassed you all at once, leaving you unable to find anything right to say.
Off the bed you went, until his hand clasped over your wrist, pulling you back in.
"Fuckâ'm sorry. I didn't, I didn't mean to. Something's wrong with me, IâI can't." The angry man from before was nowhere to be seen. Lohen whimpered, apologies deteriorating into incoherency. "Lâlisten, you have to listen to meâ"
Worried and willing, you climbed back into bed, holding him close as he explained his side of the story.
"She needs this, okay? She'll appreciate it in the future. Yâyou will tooâhelp me convince her, 'll make the training a bit easier for her, then I can make it harder over time."
Emotion, and every irrational part of you wanted to agree, hug him even tighter and comfort him until he was back to normal again. But you knew you couldn't do that. Not for the sake of your daughter. "Lohen. I can't do that. You need to accept that she doesn't want to learn how to fight."
Silence seized your bedroom, and under your palms you could feel Lohen tremble, ever so slightly. Your heart beat wildly, stressed at his current state.
"Peroneal nerve."
"Pardon...?"
He didn't cry, but his eyes tethered on tears, frantically blinking. "It paralyses the limb. The Fatui, they liked pressing onto it and watching us freak out. Aâand threatened to cut out our vocal cords so we'd stop crying."
Your mouth went dry. You knew about his past and the experiments, but he's never explained it in this depth.
Lohen choked on memory and sorrow. "I don't want my baby to go through that. I survived it once, I can't do it again."
You gulped, rubbing his back as he caught his breath. "It's okay now, everything's okay. She's safe. No one's coming after her." You waited, the muffled clock in the living room ticking away.
His heartbeat began to calm down, thumping gently against his chest. You murmured. "I want her to be safe too, but I want her to be happy too."
"Is she mad at me...?" He whispered.
"Not exactly. She just misses how you were before. And wants you to be nice again."
He ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm the worst..."
"You will be. If you don't apologise."
Lohen grasped the roots of his hair. "I knowâI know I'm acting like my parents but this is for her sake."
"I'm pretty sure they thought the same." You stared at the roof instead of him. "Different type of safety. They probably wanted you to inherit the family business for your stability. And because it's been instilled into them to pass it on."
Lohen groaned, unable to argue.
"I still think your parents love you a lot. They just weren't good at being parents."
It's a common phenomenon. A parent loving their child comes as naturally as breathing. But parenthood took more than love, it demanded immense amounts of empathy, maturity and intelligence. It wasn't something emotion only could compensate for.
Love alone could exist, it couldn't be felt without understanding and care.
It was a grand question that floated around in your head before you started a family together. You heard of parents that adored their children, who couldn't reciprocate, both from friends and personal experience. There was a looming fear of hurting your child, whilst making them grow up in a house that didn't believe in tears or refusal.
Lohen finally spoke again. "Who knows. Don't care. I want to make sure she feels loved though. I'll apologise. And I won't make her train."
Relief hugged you, warm and tight. "That's good. Wanna go now?"
He nodded, though he still seemed lost. "How do parents even apologise? Mine never did." He mumbled, as you walked through the kitchen to your daughter's room.
You shrugged. "Treat it like a normal apology."
With a deep breath, you knocked on the door.
"Can we come in? Daddy wants to speak to you."
You waited patiently, until it creaked open. With an arm wrapped around her bunny, your daughter peaked through it.
"Do you want to talk now? Or later?"
She shook her head. "Now please." You stepped out the way of Lohen.
He gulped. "I'm really sorry. I won't make you train anymore. Never. Let's go back to normal. I want to."
She beamed. "Really?" She turned to you, as if she needed someone else to confirm the truth.
You nodded. "Daddy just got scared you wouldn't be able to fight off any bad guys if you met them. That's why he wanted you to be strong as soon as possible."
Your daughter blinked. "But why would I need that?"
You glanced at Lohen, who took a deep breath to compose himself. Before he could explain why, your daughter piped up.
"Daddy's strong, he can do it for me! He'll always protect me, right? Even boars don't scare him."
Lohen didn't move. His eyes widened, and you swear he stopped breathing.
"Right?" She clinged on his legs and looked up at him. "You'll protect me forever!"
"OâOf course." She held up her arms to get carried, squealing as Lohen picked her up. "Always."
It's been a while since you've seen her this happy.
She pressed a loud kiss on his cheek and squeezed her bunny. "I love you!"
Lohen held her tighter. "I love you too. Do you wanna go to the cake store? It'll be my treat."
"Even though it's night time?"
Right. Going out late was rare in your household. Even when you were all together, Lohen was constantly stressed and on watch. He refused to admit it, but you knew better.
But he nodded. "Even though it's night time. Go put your shoes on."
He placed her down and she raced to the front door. You swear you saw a tear.
"You're allowed to cry."
"Shut up. 'm not."
You sighed, affectionately, watching him curl up into a ball. Your daughter passed out cold, after downing a chocolate pastry and having a sugar crash. The entire time, she clung onto Lohen, rambling about how much she missed him.
"You see why she has no sense of danger? Nothing scares her because her daddy's always there."
"That's stupid." Lohen mumbled, with no hostility. "What's she going to do when I'm too old for fighting?"
You inched closer to wrap an arm around him, it snaked around his waist and pulled him closer. "She'll be an adult by then. And she can learn how to fight however she wants. Whatever martial art she picks, I'm sure you'll help her."
He scoffed. "'Course I will. 'm her father."
"Good." You murmured into his neck, pressing a kiss there and watching him squirm.
"'m sorry for being so difficult."
"You're not."
"I am. Being a dad is way harder than I thought."
You shrugged. "I think you're doing alright."
He scoffed. "I made my daughter cry. And I yelled at her. I feel like shit." He grabbed a spare pillow and buried his face.
"Awww, c'mon, you're still doing great." You pried the pillow away and he wrestled for it. "I'm happy you had that argument."
Lohen whipped around. "You drunk?"
You shook your head. "I'm happy she felt safe enough to speak out. Neither of us would've had our parents listen to us like you did." His gaze softened, and his scepticism faded away. "I know you feel bad, but isn't it a relief she was comfortable enough to say no?"
He sighed. "I guess that's true."
"So stop beating yourself up already. You apologised, she forgave you, and you've learnt. You've done everything most people don't." You pressed another kiss, this time on his head. "You're a great father, Lohen. Far better than your own.'
The praise inflated his ego and he pulled his blanket up. "Low standard, but whatever."
"Just take the compliment." You smacked him gently. "I'm gonna sleep now, alright?"
Lohen nodded, kissing you on the shoulder. "Me too. Good night."
"Sleep well."
Though you heard a sniffle or two, you kept to yourself for his sake, remaining still and quiet.
The one of the reknowned bowmakers of Dornman Port stared at Lohen.
He stared back, the script he had drafted in his head nowhere to be seen, replaced by only unease and clammy palms. Unsure of what else to do, he walked up the hill to where they stood, and greeted them as normally as he could.
"Hello, Father."
He froze, dropping the watering can.
Lohen took a deep breath.
"I have a daughter now."
The man gasped.
"And I'm starting to understand why you guys behave the way you do. I don't think it was right, and I quite frankly don't forgive you." It was petty, but Lohen didn't care. He hated the monotony he was forced into, the daily ritualistic praying, and the predetermined destiny laid out for him. All became worse after his kidnapping.
You understood him fine, and so did Adorno. He doesn't think it's out of the picture to expect his parents to do the same.
"But. I'd want you two to be apart of her lifeâmy daughter's."
He's not sure why he wanted to do this. His daughter only asked once about his parents, and never asked again after he spewed out an improvised lie about them.
Maybe deep down, he hoped his parents would've learnt from him. Or he craved for his parents to finally change. Perhaps he wished for his father to regret his pacifist ways? Whatever it was, it was strong enough to drag him all the way to their place
The man said nothing. Lohen wondered if that was his queue to go home.
But it wasn't, the man picked up the watering can and put it aside, beckoning Lohen to come closer.
"...you'll have some tea with your parents, won't you?" He said, his voice far more wizened than Lohen remembered. "We owe you an apology."
Lohen hesistated, but nodded soon after, as he followed his father.
"You belong only to me!!"

_ Wow! you guys really like my artwork that much? This is the first time my artwork has received so much attention!!! â*: .ïœĄ. o(â§âœâŠ)o .ïœĄ.:*â
warning(s) -> fluff, secret nighttime visits, teasing, romantic tension, close proximity, oblivious lohen, amused varka, mild embarrassment | wordcount. 1.2k | notes. HEY GUYS IM FINALLY BACK TEEHEE :3 enjoy this semi-long fic which is from my old account which took too long to re-edit. art credits
lohen makes a habit of sneaking into your room through the window, insisting it's the easiest way to see you. when varka catches him mid-climb, neither of you is prepared for his reaction.
the first time lohen shows up at your window, you almost scream.
itâs lateâfar too late for visitorsâand the room is lit only by a dim lamp and the soft glow of the moon slipping through the curtains. youâre halfway through getting ready for bed when you hear it:
a quiet tap.
you freeze.
another one, more deliberate this time.
your heart starts pounding as you slowly turn toward the window.
ââŠno way,â you whisper.
the tapping comes again.
you inch closer, hesitating before pulling the curtain back just slightlyâ
and there he is.
lohen is balanced on the narrow ledge like itâs nothing, one hand braced against the wall, the other raised mid-knock. his expression is completely calm, like this is a normal, reasonable thing to be doing at this hour.
you stare at him and he stares back.
âopen it,â he says, voice muffled by the window between you two.
you blink rapidly. âare you insane?!â
âpossibly,â he replies, unfazed. âit depends on how long you keep me out here.â
your stomach drops as you glance down instinctively. you donât live in a penthouse or anything, but your room is still about 6 stories high
ââŠyou climbed up here.â
âyes.â he says it like it required no effort at all.
you hesitate for another second before quickly unlocking the window and pushing it open just enough for him to slip through.
the moment his feet hit your floor, you shut it again and pull the curtains tight.
âwhat are you doing here?â you whisper harshly, turning back to him. âwhat if someone saw you?!â
âno one did.â
he doesnât sound worried in the slightest.
if anything, he sounds mildly curious about why you are.
you run a hand through your hair, trying to steady your breathing. âthatâs not the point, lohen. you canât just climb into my room in the middle of the night!â
he watches you for a moment, then tilts his head slightly.
âbut you didnât say you didnât want me here.â
your face heats instantly.
âthatâs- thatâs not what i meant.â
he steps closer, enough to close the space between you.
âthen what did you mean?â
your words catch in your throat.
being this close to him, in your room, at nightâit feels different. quieter. more dangerous, somehow, like the secrecy itself is pressing in around you.
âwe could get caught,â you manage.
âwe wonât.â he says it simply, like itâs already decided.
your heart is still racing. âyou donât know that-â
âi do.â
he lifts a hand, brushing a stray strand of hair away from your face without hesitation. the familiarity of the gesture makes your breath hitch.
âi checked.â
âyou⊠checked?â
âyes.â he doesnât elaborate, and you donât bother trying to make him explain further.
you stare at him, your expression somewhere between disbelief and something softer you donât want to name.
âyouâre unbelievable.â
âyou still opened the window.â
your face burns again, and you look away immediately. âi panicked.â
âyou recognized me.â he says it quietly, like thatâs the important part.
you donât respond. you donât need to.
lohen studies your expression for a moment before his gaze softens just slightly.
âi missed you.â
the words are simple, but in the stillness of your room, they feel heavier than they should.
you glance back at him, your chest tightening. âyou saw me this morning.â
âthat was different.â he steps closer again, stopping just short of touching you. âi couldnât talk to you like this.â
your heart skips. âlike what?â
his gaze flicks briefly to the door, then back to you.
âwithout pretending like weâre nothing.â
the room feels smaller, quieter.
you swallow. âyouâre still going to get us caught.â
âthen tell me to leave.â he says it immediately. no hesitation, no teasing.
just a calm offer.
you open your mouth and hesitate.
lohen watches you carefully. âi thought so.â
your face heats as he lets out the faintest breath of something that almost sounds like amusement.
âjust-â you whisper, stepping closer and grabbing his sleeve instinctively, âkeep your voice down.â
he stills at the contact. then looks down at your hand and then back at you.
âyouâre the one pulling me closer.â
you immediately let go like youâve been burned. âi wasnât- i just-â
he moves this time, closing the distance properly, yet heâs still not touching you.
just close enough that you feel it againâthat quiet, charged space between you that only exists when no one else is around.
âif youâre worried about being caught,â he murmurs, voice softer now, âyou shouldnât do things like that.â
your breath catches.
âyou came into my room,â you whisper back. âyou donât get to lecture me.â
âthatâs fair.â
he doesnât argue.
which somehow throws you off more.
thereâs a pause. a quiet one.
thenâ
âwill you let me stay?â
your heart stumbles.
âfor a little while,â he adds, almost as an afterthought. like it matters less than the question itself.
you glance toward the door. then the window. then back at him.
this is a bad idea.
a terrible one.
you already know that.
âjust for a bit,â you mutter.
lohenâs expression softensânot dramatically, not obviously, but enough that you notice.
âthatâs enough.â
and when he leans just slightly closer, lowering his voice even furtherâlike the world outside your room doesnât existâ you realize youâd probably open that window every time.
---
varka wasnât supposed to be back in mondstadt yet.
thatâs what you keep telling yourself later.
that if he had stuck to his expedition schedule, none of this wouldâve happened.
but unfortunately, varka has never been particularly predictable.
itâs late, quiet.
the kind of quiet where even the knights on patrol have grown sparse, their footsteps distant and fading.
lohen moves easily along the outer wall, fingers finding holds in stone like heâs done this a hundred times before.
(which he has.)
his movements are controlled, silent, preciseâ
until a voice cuts through the dark.
âinteresting.â
lohen stops instantly. slowly, he looks down.
and there, standing a short distance away with his arms crossed and a very obvious grin, is varka.
watching him.
âcarry on,â varka says casually, like heâs commenting on the weather. âdonât mind me.â
thereâs a pause.
lohen doesnât move. ââŠyouâre blocking the path,â he says calmly.
varka raises a brow. âam i?â
he very much isnât.
lohen looks at him for another second before continuing his climb like nothing happened.
varka watches, amused.
âyou know,â he calls out, not even trying to be quiet, âmost people use doors.â
lohen reaches your window, taps once, and waits.
âthis is more efficient,â he replies.
varka laughs under his breath. âis that what weâre calling it?â
the window opens slightly.
you peek out and immediately freeze when you see both of them. ââŠoh no.â
lohen slips inside before you can say anything else.
you stare down at varka, horrified. âyou didnât see anything.â
varka looks up at you, smiling far too knowingly.
âof course not.â a beat. ââŠbut i did see someone scaling a building in the middle of the night to visit a certain knightâs room.â
you slam the window shut immediately.
inside, you turn to lohen, panicking. âhe saw you-â
âyes.â he doesnât seem concerned at all.
âand youâre not worried?!â
lohen considers that for a moment.
âhe didnât stop me.â
you stare at him.
âthatâs your takeaway?!â
lohen nods slightly, completely serious.
and outside, somewhere below, you can still faintly hear varka laughing.

the thing we first need to get straight about lohen is that man has absolutely no sense of self preservation when it actually matters (probably pre story quest)
he'll walk into monster-infested ruins. Alone. Smiling. Gets stabbed. "...Huh." Pulls the spear out. Keeps fighting.
Medics: "CAN YOU STOP DOING THAT."
"Doing what?"

He's already wrapping the bandage.
his version of romance is "i found a really dangerous cave.... wanna go together?"
He genuinely thinks this is an excellent date.
Other ideas include:
hunting a lawachurl.
climbing Dragonspine.
investigating suspicious ruins
monster tracking.
"walking" (ends up covering twenty kilometers).
Candlelit dinner?
Sure.
As long as there's a monster nest afterward.
absolutely SHAMELESS eye contact. his sense of humor never improves either.
He already studies everyone.
His partner?
Even more.
You look up.
He's looking at you.
"...What?"
"Nothing."
"...Then why are you staring?"
"You smiled."
"..."
"...I wanted to see it again."
He says things like this with complete sincerity. Then goes back to casually sharpening a spear.
he's weirdly domestic (sometimes. only with you). he (SOMETIMES) loves helping with chores and claims it's "efficient"
Ends up making everything into a competition.
"Whoever folds laundry slower washes dishes."
"...Why?"
"Motivation."
Cooking together?
He follows recipes...
Exactly once.
Then starts experimenting.
"...Lohen."
"What?"
"...Why is there Jueyun Chilis from Liyue in the pancakes?"
"...Curiosity."
He trusts you.
Completely.
If you say: "I've got this."
He believes you.
Doesn't jump in unless you actually need help.
But if someone genuinely threatens you?
The smile disappears.
Immediately.
Even the other Knights suddenly become interested in something else.
He doesn't realize half the things he does are romantic.
Casually tucks your hair behind your ear while talking.
Brings you flowers because "they reminded me of your eyes."
Falls asleep with his hand still holding yours.
Remembers every tiny thing you casually mention.
Then acts confused when everyone calls him smooth.
"I just... paid attention."
his gifts alternate between a pretty flower, a rare ore, monster claws, handmade crossbow, expensive tea, incredibly toxic poison.
you eventually learn how ot be immune to his chaos
Everyone else: "WHERE DID LOHEN GO?!"
You: "...Ceiling."
Everyone: "..."
Lohen, upside down in the rafters: "...How'd you know?"
You: "You always hide there."
Lohen: "You're so hot."
the 5th comany ships it so hard
his gifts are concerningly thoughtful
Normal people buy jewelry.
Lohen buys:
reinforced gloves
custom daggers
emergency medical kits
waterproof cloaks
specialized camping equipment
Then one day...
He quietly hands you a tiny carved wooden animal.
"...You made this?"
"Mhm."
"...When?"
"Couldn't sleep."
It's a perfect little carving.
You treasure it forever.
He pretends not to notice.
his pain tolerance is offensive. you asked him to rate his pain. he says 3. his arm is currently broken btw.
lohen usually sleeps like someone who's spent years in the field.
Very lightly.
One weird noise?
Eyes open immediately.
But if you're sleeping against him...
He relaxes.
More deeply than anyone has ever seen.
The Fifth Company notices he actually looks rested now.
One knight whispers:
"...They're good for him."
Another whispers back:
"...Don't tell him that."
varka's favorite hobby is watching you two be accidentally romantic in public.
lohen doesn't always say "i love you constantly". he says it. just differently.
"Tell me when you get back."
"Eat before you leave."
"I've already sharpened your weapon."
"Walk behind me here."
"Take my coat."
"You're tired."
And, perhaps his favorite:
"I've got you."
Matter-of-fact.
Completely unquestionable.
Because if Lohen says he's got you...
Then as far as he's concerned, the whole world would have to get through him first.

BECAUSE HIS CONSTELLATION IS
â Siri, how to tell my stupid stalker that I know he follows me and want him to just date me already.
âStalker!Lohen x fem!reader !
You doubted your dear vice-captain had that much free time to spend outside bringing you the reports you expected him to return to you.
Surely he wouldn't think that you wouldn't know, right?
How could you not when the many letters he'd slide under your door late at nightâloving but creepy at the same timeâhow could you not know who it was when his handwritting is the same as the reports he gave back to you?
How could you not know when the oh-so-familiar clapping on boots you recognized so well would suddenly start stepping steps behind you? Now, what is he trying to do, you'd say, expecting him to pull tricks on you just like Grandmaster Varka, but instead being surprised by nothing. Even the next day or after, just pure quiet.
And mainly, how could you not when the enemies mentionned in your reports were fast killed when you were in the zoneâcry residue and an attack pattern you recognized so wellâespecially when only Lohen had access to your office?
If he wants to play this game, then sure. It was very fun watching him think that you wouldn't understand the little hints he'd throw.
And you'd make it easy for him too, staying late at night just to open the door for him everytime he would decide to come. Dangerous, but with your killer bunny you were as safe as ever.
"Vice-captain, may I know what you're doing in my room?" You'd say out of nowhere, previously faking to sleep before deciding that you couldn't be ignorant ever.
"Hm? Well because you opened the door for me cap." He would smirk, eyes open as he took in your looks. "I doubt that my ever careful captain would forget to open her door in the middle of the night, no?"
"Right."
"You seem awfully calm, are you not worried I'd hurt you in your sleep?"
"I know that you wouldn't Lohen, you love me too much for that." You'd smile, eyes watching his eyes widen before narrowing.
"And clearly, you love me too much to kick me out at this hour, yes?"
"Well I'd tell you to shut up and come cuddle me because we have work tomorrow but theâ"
Suddenly, well not so suddenly, you felt a weight dip beside you on the bed. A toned chest soon coming in contact with yours as his arms circled you. "That eager?"
"Just following your orders cap," the only time he did because you still don't have the reports you asked of him yet.
"Did you atleast close the door?"
"Shhh."
"Lohen, close the damn door."
Atleast, thanks to you for the opened door, the knights didn't have to sigh everytime you and Lohen were talking anymoreâtwo obvious lovebirds with the brain of a peanut.
Notes: some headcanons/drabble! A huge fan of Lohen and Iâve really loved looking into his personality. Some of the lore related parts may be slightly inaccurate as this is based off my recollection. That aside, hope you enjoy :)
-I think Lohen, despite his craziness, is gentle. He doesnât say it outright, nor does he let it show often in public. If anything, he would be cautious about where his hands are on you. He might hesitate when you hug him, or when he wants to rest his head on your shoulder. He thinks about grabbing your hand, but is reluctant to act on it.
-He's big on affection
-Again, maybe not PDA, but once he's comfortable? Good luck trying to get him off you
-At home, heâd hug you and cling to you. Oftentimes heâd fall asleep in your lap while you would recall silly things about your day. He also would talk about his adventures while you listened, while your fingers combed through his hair. Youâd lecture him about being reckless or maybe finding another outlet instead of throwing himself into a hilichurl camp for the reason being âjust becauseââthen having to come home covered in cuts and whatever other injuries heâd end up with. He laughs, but he isnât the one who has to tend to his wounds afterwards.
-With that, I think heâd also trust you A LOT with treating his wounds. To the point that he wouldnât let any medics (or Barbara) see him. You know his quirks, and his ridiculous love for painâwhich still was something you couldnât quite wrap your head around. But it's just the way your touch is so gentle and careful, contrary to his own recklessness. Sometimes, your hands linger just a second longer while bandaging a wound, and it just thrills him. The way you handle him with such attentiveness, like glass, makes him feel so special.
-Not very good with communication. He struggles to open up or show vulnerability. Youâd have to really push for an answer if you notice heâs acting off. But, that doesnât mean he doesnât trust you! When heâs feeling down, heâll go quiet. Then heâll try and look for you, in the Knights of Favonius HQ or in your home, and sit next to you. Without any words exchanged, heâll wrap his arms around you and bury his head in the nape of your neck. You learn to not ask questions on those days and just accept his embrace, and whisper reassurances to him.
-Lohen would do anything, and I mean anything, to make sure you're safe. Knowing Lohenâs own past, he canât stand watching when youâre in dangerâbound to his own helplessness. He couldnât fathom seeing you succumb to pain. While he doesnât express such emotions often, that fear would manifest within him. And his chest aches at that thought. He wouldnât want to be the one that has to clean your wounds, or sit on your bedside in the Church while you healed; because he should have been there to protect you. If such an event ever were to happen and he couldnât help youâthe same way he wished he had done when he was a childâthat guilt would eat at him. Because behind that extraverted, controlling, and bloodlust facade, thereâs a young boy that stood in a lab, frozen in fear. A boy that survived while he watched others die. Lohen would pay that debt of survival with his own blood, not yours.
-Donât ever leave him, please
-Having someone that loved him for who he truly was and not a reduced persona is something that's really special to him. It's special that you see him for more than the âcrazy vice captain of the 5th companyâ. While not established with his words, he cherishes the late night talks, sparring, and even those lectures from you where he would roll his eyes in reply. And more importantlyâhe would cherish you.
-Almost nothing can get between you two, but of course, being mortal has its limits. There are some things you both canât fight or outrun. With whatever time he's given by the archons, he accepts itâas long as he's by your side.
