GOSSIP GIRL (2007–2012) 2.03 The Dark Night
Drinking was all fun and games, until you broke the seal. Guzman had done so about an hour ago, and hadn’t stopped making toilet trips since. He wasn’t drunk, but he was certainly buzzed, so his door knocking was slightly more impatient than usual. He suspected there was a couple in there making out, but was surprised upon entering to find a girl there alone. A girl he vaguely recognised. He unintentionally blocked her from exiting, smiling awkwardly. “Ah. Sorry.” Forgetting about his bladder for a moment, he stepped aside to give her room, but continued the conversation. “What were you doing? I was knocking for minutes.”
“Oh, now you’re sorry?” She raised her eyebrows at him, not believing it for a second after his show of impatience. Why he’d changed his mind after seeing her made no sense to her. “You all but broke the door down.” Not appreciating his question, she crossed her arms, her familiar defensive attitude returning. “It’s really none of your business what I or any woman does in the bathroom. I don’t even know why you’re bothering to ask, aren’t you super desperate to do a line? Room’s all yours.”
Aimee smacked impatiently on the bathroom door, wondering who’d been hogging it for the last five minutes. “Oh come on, hurry up!” She shouted, as politely as possible. Although she were enjoying getting to know her new classmates, and the party in general, she still felt anxious surrounded by strangers, which often made her need the toilet.
Eventually, the door opened, and Aimee breathed a sigh of relief, not surprised that it was someone she hadn’t met yet. Everyone here was a newcomer. “Are you alright? You’ve been ages in there.” She glanced into the room, questioning what’d taken so long. “I’m a bit nervous, being here. I really need a poo.”
Crossing her arms, Sana pouted, not appreciating what she felt was an interrogation. She couldn’t help the inherent irritation, always paranoid she had to be on the defensive about her religion and the practices it involved. “I needed to vomit. Is that a problem?” The girl only went on to share her own anxieties however, which was astonishingly refreshing. Sana found herself feeling guilty, realising the stranger had asked if she was alright. It wasn’t how her parents would want her to behave, especially when they’d just moved here. With a sigh, she uncrossed her arms and stepped aside. “I’m fine, really. I wasn’t vomiting, I was praying. And I’m sorry for holding you up. Go… poo,” she gestured, a smile finding her face.
Music and mindless conversation washed over her, Sana struggling to feign interest. The only partygoers she recognised were Elias and his gang, but she’d rather go it alone than join them and be teased for having no friends. She was about to give up and move groups when her phone buzzed in her pocket, a telltale sign it was time for prayer. Sana sighed, not bothering to excuse herself from the group as she made her way to the bathroom. It wasn’t like any of them had been talking to her anyway. Locking herself in the thankfully empty room, Sana tugged the small blanket from her tote and laid it straight on the tiles, beginning the Isha. The location wasn’t ideal, of course, with someone banging on the door every two minutes, but she had no choice. When she was with Allah, nobody could truly interrupt her. Sana washed her hands after finishing up, glancing at herself in the mirror for a moment before another loud knock on the door shook her from her thoughts.
“Okay, okay, beklager!” She replied in a huff, pulling on the handle. “You can come in now.”

“Were you never validated as a child, is that it? Mommy was never proud of your drawings? Or was it daddy who never came to any of your graduations? You didn’t have hair on your dick in 7th grade and got bullied for it? Whatever it is, you seriously have to get over it and start behaving like a decent human being. Stop walking aroung like a fucking cliché.“
