T H E   I N F E R N A L   A P O C R Y P H A — WORMWOOD’S FALL WRITING EXCERPT: THE JUDECCA ROUND

“Look there, between the black rocks, under the surface of the ice,” Lucifer ordered, his voice soft, pointing towards the direction he spoke with one hand, the other holding his cloak shut to keep the cold away. “Judas Iscariot, frozen forever within my lake.”

Judas’ figure appeared almost as if on display, and he was unmoving although not completely immobile. His eyes met Abdiel’s, and Abdiel was overcome with a deep sense of betrayal and regret, vengeance and pity, and other sensations making him feel just as frozen due to their presence. He felt as though he looked upon something never meant for him to see.

“I flayed his spine myself, you know, and no, not by choice.”

It was clear Beelzebub was still shaken by what happened. 

Lucifer had yelled horrifically through the vision, betraying his usual soft-spoken demeanor with a powerful voice that his company had not heard for eons. And the situation became worse as he yelled, uncontrollable magic rising with his words, orders, and panic, even if the molten rain itself was not real to those around him. 

He understood how Beelzebub could be put off by that, despite living in Hell, despite his daily association with fire, and despite commanding an army.

But Beelzebub was there, Beelzebub was real, and Lucifer was certain of that.

PROCESS VIDEO - MICHAEL | PART 1 - WINGS

here is the first part of a series of process videos for [this illustration]. i chose to do this in parts after i realized how much recording i am doing.

in this video, textures are added to the wings and linework is cleaned up. in the next video, i will be adding various textures/values to the figure and clothing, in addition to cleaning up that linework as well. the video after that will be for the shading itself.

this is also roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes worth of work condensed down into 10 minutes. the big brush used to add the texture is one of my own custom brushes.

also i’m very pleased with this, as i am someone who went into video-making with next to no knowledge of how to make videos. c:

music is by batushka — yekteniya 1 & 2 from litourgiya. obviously not mine, but was very much the inspiration for the character. if you don’t like metal, mute the video.
