I was thinking more later seasons Sam because he’s so hidden and so closed and focused on hiding his emotions behind a wall. one day the wall will break and everything he feels will slip out, fast and steady and destructive.

I want Sam screaming at Dean about Gadreel and losing Kevin. In return, every surface in the bunker that’s glass shatters. I want him to scream himself hoarse and not even realise whats happening around him. I want him to break down in tears and only then see there’s a shard of glass that’s pierced his shoulder. blood pours down his t-shirt, and yet he looks at dean frantically with apologies in his eyes. (This is the monster that he holds at bay, and he wonders if even without being possessed he could be a force of destruction).

How about season 11 premiere when he’s been infected by the darkness and because he feels like he has already been down this road before (having something dark inside him, infecting him and the prospect of becoming a monster as a result of darkness he cannot control) and it’s when he is healing himself with the holy fire that his desperation for it to work, to not turn dark side this time, just this once to be pure, that desperation and his need to be okay just this once sets the halls ablaze around him, he doesn’t even know how he made it out before the building collapsed

After careful consideration and analysis of both “Dead Man’s Blood” (1x20) and “Carry On” (15x20) I think I finally have answers about why Jenny was in the finale.

When John died, his relationship with Sam was broken and he warned Dean that Sam might have to be put down as if he were some rabid dog

Dean’s signature gun is a Colt M1911A1 (.45) and Sam’s is a Taurus PT99 (9mm). Neither one is inherently considered “better” at killing things, the performance of the two bullets relies entirely on marksmanship and gun handling. The 9mm fires faster and with less recoil and has lighter bullets. The .45 has heavier, slower bullets and a pretty decent kick.

The thought I’m having is Dean picks the Colt because he feels like his shots “really count”. It’s flashy and showy. It’s a symbol of his lineage (demon hunter Samuel Colt and The Colt). There’s less shots in the magazine so he has to trust himself that he’s going to get it right.

Sam picks the Taurus because it’s light and it doesn’t feel As Dangerous. He has more opportunities (with more shots in the chamber) in case he fails, but he isn’t showing off, he’s just trying to get the job done.

Sam replaced that gosh darn tattoo sometimes between First Born and Sharp Teeth and no-one can tell me otherwise (unless it means we get a shirtless Jared scene then I’ll compromise) and he got about a dozen more while he was at it.

The first time Sam ran away from home he was 11 and John hit him for the first time, Sam was scared and ran. He only got as far as three streets away before Dean found him and brought him home but he wouldn’t look at or talk to John for a week after.

Sam still loves Jess and still dreams about her.

“Once when we were kids” refers to Sam believing himself to be ‘unclean’ and wanting to purify himself by confession. He was about 8 at the time and it was not long before he found out about hunting. They were staying with Father Jim and it was Jim who found him having cried himself to sleep in the confessional the next morning.

Sam’s heaven now includes the memory of Amelia and riot in the park with the birthday cake.

sometimes sam thinks he’s completely healed. he reaches a point where he can go months, then years, without his abuser ever really crossing his mind. but other days he sees someone a bit too similar to nick’s appearance in the grocery store and drops the almond milk he’d been going for. or his hands begin to violently shake on the days where the scar in his palm is just a bit too visible, and in the dark of the night he breaks through the skin with his thumb just to re-remind himself. some days sam can’t trust the friends he brings home for dinner, reminded of the time everyone he thought he could depend on stood in front of him. occasionally, he dreams of jess and wakes up fast, never able to indulge without reminding himself of what this could be.
