Figured I might do a little intro post finally so here we go:

Hey! I’m Jade, they/them.

I’m a ts crit blog currently. My blog name if from the days of yor, when I was a fander and wrote fanfics. Those are still here absolutely not because I’m too lazy to delete them all. But also to kinda document that I was in fact a fander, who loved tss, until I didn’t.

I talk about that a lot, so I’ll not repeat it again.

Asks and anons are on. That doesn’t mean I’m obligated to answer every ask. And if you’re a dick I’ll probably just delete, or make fun of it. Don’t be a dick. I have many opinions, and I love ranting about my many dumb opinions, send me an ask and you can hear those dumb opinions

Read your ts criticism post and thought I should add - he hasn’t written anything in years. There’s no script even near ready to film.

He’s stringing everyone along and using all monetary support to go clubbing every weekend.

He’s not working on anything else besides shorts and cheap quick content. Ever since the real writers left, he’s done nothing. That’s why nothing that he’s said he’s been working on ever got done. RSWR only got done because he wasn’t the writer, and from the looks of his recent post - he let that writer go.

He literally just wants to profit and party.

Good glory! I keep seeing more of you guys, lol!!

Reading through everything, wow. This stinks. I took a break from Thomas's content in late 2021 and came back in late 2024, and I've noticed a change in the channel's atmosphere. Not just his channel, but also his social media presence. It doesn't seem authentic anymore. I still like some of his content, and especially fan content, but hearing all of what he's done, it's awful.

I'm actually asking some of the Thomas crit pages this, but is there any organized way we can let Thomas know our grievances? Like the YouTube boycott or an online protest? I feel like if we come together as a community, both as fanders and exfanders, and collectively tell Thomas to change, it'll happen. Or maybe he won't. Only God knows.

I really can't comment on how Thomas's content has changed, as I unfollowed him on insta years ago and even when I was a fan I was only there for stuff relating to Sanders Sides. I don't want to comment on his authenticity, it's so hard to be authentic online, no matter how authentic or inauthentic people have shit to say about it.

As for organizing, the ts crit community here is tiny, I looked into it on other platforms and found nothing. A boycott or protest wouldn't do anything, Thomas has his fans, he's (somehow) still getting views, besides most of us stopped watching him a long time ago, I'll watch every now and then to dissect the videos but that's it.

Current fanders are not receptive to anyone criticizing Thomas, I'm lucky enough to not have gotten any (yet) but other people have gotten death threats for speaking badly of Thomas. Fanders don't wanna hear what we have to say. It sucks that nothing can be done and I worry that if the crit community grows rapidly the plot'll get lost and the reasons we talk about now, the grievances we have will be forgotten or twisted into something that wasn't intended

I made a post talking about Thomas officially running out of vines to react to on his channel back in July.

I think I got hit with Apollo’s dogeball, my bad y’all. He’s never going to be anything but the Vine Guy even if vine does again he’ll still have his tiktok and instagram, it’ll never end.

I feel like a lot of the Thomas defenders that I see online seem to get stuck at the starting point of criticism— the “there’s no finale coming, or even new SaSi content” criticism.

Which! It’s valid criticism! But defenders go “well, Thomas is human! You can’t expect him to be a content mill!”

Again! Fair rebuttal! However, the Finale Is Never Coming criticism is a symptom of the larger problem at hand. And the problem that I personally have with Thomas is that he has no regard in setting a clear path of communication nor boundaries.

There’s no communication with his fans or his patreon. And no. Insta stories that say “Editing! 🫶” And selfies with the caption “Filming 😻” are not communication, that’s stalling.

There’s no communication with the people he hires. Why are animations getting paid cents or not at all for their work. Why are employees learning their jobs are over via tweets and YouTube community posts. He doesn’t care about the staff he has, or about the freelance he employs and it’s shown through how he treats them, how they now have to dance around how they talk about their experiences online because they’re afraid of legal repercussions.

Thomas has cultivated a deeply parasocial bond with his fan base, one that he is exploiting for money, attention and defense, because you can’t even comment under his posts politely asking for a more in depth update without getting a victimized response from him or a fan rabidly clawing into their screen to protect their favorite Internet personality.

And that’s why the criticism is so harsh. Because having a fan base like this and treating your business like this is dangerous and toxic.

The finale is the very tip of the iceberg. My gripes are about the lack of transparency, how he has cultivated his fanbase into being insanely parasocial which makes the fandom suffer by putting the fans who get noticed by Thomas on a pedestal and makes it impossible to say anything even midly bad about him without people telling you to kill yourself because Thomas has never done anything wrong his entire life.

It’s over not compensating people properly for their work, especially since he is a fellow creative and that is hypocritical as shit.

It’s him putting at least 3 people on blast for saying stuff that’s neutral and not praising him to the high heavens. In which two of those people then apologized TO HIM.

It’s about people on patreon not getting what they paid for both from what Thomas hasn’t delivered content wise and the merch perks for being certain tiers that were never delivered on.

It’s so much more then just the finale that I have issues with but saying “oh you just have to be patient! It’ll come eventually” and ignoring everything else is not it

That’s what I’m saying! People are leaving, and have been for years due to the lack of actual sanders sides content.

Only the super fans are left who are happy with the crumbs Thomas posts. But the longer it gets between episodes the more people are going to move on. The more people ARE moving on with their lives.
