Jake is proving to be a reliable performer and has had consistently good roles:

Streetcar - all 4/5 ⭐ reviews and great comments about his interpretation of Stanley (apart from one!!)

Last Days - all 4/5 ⭐ reviews for his west-end debut and fab write ups for this nearly sold-out run.

ROAD - all 4/5 ⭐ reviews for this fully sold out run! His performance as Joey was frequently highlighted by critics as stand out.

WIFLAG - critically acclaimed. 5 BAFTA noms. Every single review was positive. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Liam was so bad and so hot!

MBC - all of the early reviews are…..brilliant! It’s hitting all the ‘what to watch’ and ‘Top TV’ lists.

It’s very cool to be watching this early part of his career and to enjoy his successes.

100% Anon, he is getting recognition for his talent and it's fantastic. He is proving to be a reliable and talented actor that production companies can rely on when casting him. Not one review for any of his stage productions or TV shows or movies have ever singled him out negatively and when he is singled out it's always praise on his skill and performance. I can't wait to see what comes next for him. Only up from here.

I feel like after My Brilliant Career and LoS, Jake might not be our little secret (at least from Nic’ fanbase) anymore but I’m happy for him. Hope this gives him more recognition and allows him to do more of the projects he wants to make. I think that even aside from Nicola, he’s a brilliant actor on his own right. He blew me away in RN.

🤣 Anon, “our little secret” 🤣 I think Jake is a phenomenal actor. I as well was blown away with his acting in Renegade Nell. He really showed the anguish when he needed too without making it over the top which I think is what great actors do. I thought he was also fantastic in WIFLFAG as he played that really aggressive, vile, a person who’s haunted by their past really well.

Reviews from MBC are coming in and they say it’s such an amazing period drama with influences from Bridgerton and Dickinson that does a good job highlighting the original work from the book and the movie as well. Philippa, Christopher and Jake are being praised for their work. They say this could land them a lot of global recognition. I think MBC might soon become a Netflix hit show.

Very excited about MBC. Not long more to go. Nice to have a new period drama offering beyond the usual Jane Austen type classics. Also one that looks to explore themes that are still relevant for women today.

Me too!!! So nice to have a female lead who shows strength and free will and putting herself first in a period drama.

I am just so proud of Jake. He has been having the most amazing few years of his career, back to back amazing projects lined up and he is making his way towards better and better opportunities each time. Another thing I noticed is how everyone around him absolutely adores him!!!!! obviously Nicola and his best friends but also most of his previous cast mates who are always in his comments being proud and happy for him like Alice, Ellie, the whole cast of WIFLFAG etc. He seems like such a wholesome, talented, hardworking, lovely person to be around. I am happy for him and Nicola.

100% agree. Even cast members from his plays like Joanna and Tayla and Laura have all supported him online or gone to see other productions he is in. Power couple for sure!

Love that this one highlights the film’s critical acclaim upon its UK release. It actually opened with a 100% perfect Rotten Tomatoes score!

I am hoping Jake is part of the promo junk for MBC since he seems to have finished with LoS. He’s in the poster so I feel he’s a major character. And I wonder if it will have a premiere either in London or Australia. That would be amazing.

I am also hoping he gets to take part in it all as well. I agree he does seem to be finished filming LOS, I think if he is going to go to Australia for the press junkets and premiere he will probably go very soon as it's a very long flight and will probably need time to adjust to the time difference. I also am going to guess that it will only be an Australia premiere event as this is an Australian production based on a beloved Australian author's book. I'm very thankful it is being released on all Netflix world wide but I do think that all the promos and premiere will be in Australia. This is purely a guess though, I have zero information as to what is actually going to be happening. We shall see though as there are less than 10 days before it is released.
