Jamie was walking back to his apartment, after work that evening, it was a long day and he was just trying to keep himself busy. He had been doing a lot the last week and getting himself back to the way he was before him and Nate. As he was walking home he noticed a poster about an Open Mic but before he could get past it, he noticed Nates face on it, he was very confused, Nate never mentioned he could sing and this was something he never expected Nate to do. He laughed a little before he saw there were two posters so he pulled one off the notice board before heading towards Nates apartment. As he got to the apartment, he knocked on the door. As he saw it open he laughed a little before smiling at the guy. “Hi, you never told me you could sing.” He stated holding the poster up.

Madelyn did not mind when people asked about her child. She was her pride and joy after all and a great conversation subject. “Her name is Annie and she is eight months old, so she is still a tiny one” she smiled “ don’t worry about it , you are not sending my any creep factor” taking a sip of her drink she looked at him “ so did you guys solve that whole thing at the bar?”

Jamie glanced over at the girl for am oment and smiled, “Oh that is a lovely name, and how has it been? Have you adjusted well? I would love to meet her one day.” He smiled a little and laughed a little, “I am glad to hear that.” He smiled taking a sip of his beer before he heard the girls words and shook his head for a moment, “Well no, he came over that evening but things didn’t get any better and I thought we were going to fix things, but in the end we realised we weren’t right for each other, so we ended whatever we were and agreed to remain friends.” He said quietly, he missed Nate and wished things would have worked.

“No rush” she smiled taking a sip of hers as she leaned back waiting for the male to return.  She smiled as he sat down “ Oh I am finding it great, got to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this place as much as New York, but for the short time I have been here it is really growing on me and not going to lie, it is nice to get away from the same city you spend your whole life in” she could ramble about it for ages, the differences she was already noticing from NY and SF. Madelyn was a huge city girl. “ And on top of that I get to finally feel like how it is to be a proper mom” living on the scene she was she was working a lot and her daughter Annie was often with a baby sitter. Moving here was also a chance for Madelyn to get closer to her child and not feel like she was neglecting her role as a mother. 

Being in San Fran since he was 15, he got used to the place, it was a comfort place for him but sometimes he wished he could just get away some times just for a break. He smiled looking over at her for a moment, “Well I am glad that you like it here, it’s a nice city, probably not as nice as New York but I think it’s great.” He smiled, he was always going to say how nice the city was because it really was a nice place to live. She smiled looking over at him, “Oh you have a child? How old are they? What is their name? That must be exciting though.” He smiled, “Sorry that sounded very exciting from me but I am a massive fan of kids... promise not in a weird way. I realise how weird or creepy that might sound..” He shook his head for a moment.

After spotting an argument at her brothers celebration she did what she was best at and thought the male might need a friend. Seeing the other guy sitting down with some females and him being lonely. This had lead her to a new friend which was amazing to her considering she just moved here. When Jamie had suggested Alfies she wanted to say no, not wanting to see her brother again until they spoken properly, but as she walked in there it seemed he was not working so the small girl made her way to sit down ordering herself a glass of wine as she waited. Madelyn smiled as she noticed the familiar face come over standing up to give him a hug “ Hi, it is no issue, I got my wine, I am doing alright, how about you?”

Jamie was very happy to make a new friend, they were always something he needed and he was happy to have made. He was glad they had agreed to meet, he was a bit of a mess since ending things with Nate and seeing people was a good way to distract him from him or try to. He smiled looking over at her and laughed al ittle, “Well that is the main thing. Glad to hear. I am doing well okay thank you. I am just going to get a drink one moment.” He said as he went to order his drink. As he came back with his drink he took a seat opposite from her, “So how are you finding it here? Getting used to it yet?”

Miles looked over at him and nodded, “Well I can imagine it can be tough. But at least things are getting there. New York is an amazing place to live but I needed the change completely.”

“It was for sure.” He stated looking over at him and nodded, “Change can be good, and I definitely understand that.”

As the but came he felt a lump in his stomach moving his hand from his. “I don’t know…i’m not sure that it can work” he took a deep breath not sure what else to say. “Im starting to think maybe we are better off just as friends”

Hearing the words as just friends hit him hard, of course he knew the guy was probably right but he didn’t want it to be just friends. He sighed, “I think you could be right there. I wish we could be more, I do but I feel we’re too different Nate.....I can’t give you what you want.” He said looking down trying to not cry.

Nate moved his hand over to grab Jamies squeezing it a little hoping that would help Jamie relaxed. He did not like seeing him this on edge. “I don’t expect things to go back to the way they were, but I really don’t want to not have you in my life Jamie”

Jamie sat there and looked over at the guy, he wanted him in his life but he really wasn’t sure how it was going to work. He smiled at the touch for a moment and looked at him, “I want you in my life too Nate, but....” He sighed a little, “How is this going to work?"

Jamie had met Madelyn at the bar the other night for the event and honestly, she was someone he instantly hit it off with and was glad when they had agreed to meet for drinks during the week. With everything that was going on with Nate, he really needed something or someone who he could talk to and she seemed like someone he could easily talk to. The met at Alfies Corner again as he liked the place and thought it would be nice to go there. As he walked in he saw her sitting there and he walked over, “Hi, sorry I am a little late, work ran over. How you doing?”

Nate felt awkward something that he rarely did. There was something off, but probably because both were nervous and did not know what was going to happen. “Well… bad, as you might know already” he bit his lower lip a little. “I really did not like how we left things” he swallowed “I got the jewelry though, got me smiling a little” he spoke trying to keep the mood light. “How about you? been doing alright?”

Jamie looked over at him, this was something he didn’t want to do and he didn’t want to be awkward around the guy but the way they had left things the last time they were around each other was not great. He bit his lip, “I didn’t like it either..... Nate... I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I am glad you liked the jewellery. I am not saying I expect you to wear it, but I do hope you keep it no matter what happens.” He said that, not wanting anything to happen between them but he also knew they weren’t in the best place at the moment. “I guess so, to be honest I have been miserable. You turning up today did make me feel slightly better though.”

He gave him a small smile before he continued to walk to the place Jamie suggested.·“Thank you, you too” he usually would make a comment about seeing him work and how that was a turn on, but he didn’t feel like he should do that at this moment. There was still a lot in the air and Nate did not want to seem like he was throwing it all under the rug.. He opened the door for him and walked inside going to a seat in the back where they could be more private.

Jamie glanced over at the guy for a moment and smiled, “Thank you.” He smiled trying to hide his nerves. He didn’t know how to feel right now, he didn’t know how their chat was going to go and he didn’t want to get his hopes up about what could happen between them. As they walked in to an area that was a little more private he looked over at the guy as he quickly looked at the menu, “So how have you been Nate?”

Miles glanced over at the guy and nodded, “Well that makes sense, I am glad you like it here though. Hope everything is okay though. I’m originally from New York, came here for work reasons.” 

Jamie looked over at the guy for a moment, “I actually love it here. It’s been a while now, so you know getting there. Oh nice, New York seems like a lovely place to be.”

He bit his lip a little handing him the rose “ i got you this.. I don’t know if you want it or not.. “ he swallowed nodding at Jamies request “ sure we can go eat, I’m not that hungry , but can order a drink or something” he started to walk with Jamie down the road tucking his hands into his pockets.

He looked over at him for a moment before looking over at the rose and he smiled, “Nate.. you didn’t have to. Thank you.” He smiled for a moment as he kissed the guys cheek for a moment. He looked over at her and nodded, “Okay perfect, theres a restaurant just down the road.” He smiled, “You look good by the way.” He stated for a moment.

Hearing what he had said, she gave him a curious look, ocean eyes looking over the man before her. “I haven’t met too many men into fashion and it’s totally fine. My father actually taught me about what masculine fashion. You’ll have to show me your jewellery store though, I must admit, I’m curious,” Isabella stated with a fond smile before folding her arms over her chest. The blonde gave a nod before sharing, “It’s just a suit and dress set I designed based off my parents wedding theme and I got family back in Australia to help design it. It just got in.” When he spoke of the last time she went back home she let out a slight sigh before honestly saying, “A few years. I’ll have to go back soon, see my father at least.”

Jamie laughed a little and nodded, “Well that makes a lot of sense but I am sure there are some men out there who are into fashion. Well I can give you my business card and you can come by and check it out.” He smiled looking over at her and nodded, “I mean I could try the suit on for you if you like.” He smiled and nodded, “Oh that must be hard to be away from him at times but you like it here right?”

Rachel laughed some before giving a nod, “that makes sense, but young me would have lost it in your shoes. Every cent mattered, me and my family we’re struggling with money so I’d have died over the two dollars, especially if my father gave it to me,” she admitted honestly. She just valued money so much, maybe a bit too much, that even she she started making a decent living she played it safe and cheap and it took a while before she’d let herself have fun sometimes. “I believe I will in time,” she added with a soft smile, looking at the male across from her. “It’s pop and I did do this like indie folk/country thing recently, but I’m thinking to do country for my next album I’m finishing up. It focuses on all my exes to finally get my feelings out and let people relate, but I don’t wanna be the always singing of love and or break ups girl,” she explained before taking a sip of her coffee. “Do you really? I love jewellery,” she exclaimed, her voice getting a bit higher. She was wearing a choker right now, a necklace of her birthstone, had a few bracelets and far too many rings. “How can I help? I’d love to in anyway.”

Jamie nodded, “Well I get that.” He stated, he was lucky that he wasn't someone who struggled for money when he was a kid. He sat there looking over at her and nodded, “Oh I need ot listen to these, I will definitely give them a listen sometime.” He stated smiling over at her for a brief moment and laughed a little, “Well I am glad you love it, I was wondering if you would maybe want to get like free monthly packages in exchange for you to promote it on your social media either Instagram or Youtube or both? I am trying to branch the business out to get it world wide kind of thing and feel like social media is a good route to go down but I know barely anything about it.”

“Yeah I will wait” he bit his lip giving him a small smile before giving them some space looking down his phone still holding the rose he got him. He got more nervous as he waited for Jamie, not knowing what was going to happen with them He ran his hand though his hair chewing on his lower lip as he waited. He smiled softly as Jamie returned·“ yeah sure, you decide where, I will just follow your lead”

Jamie looked over at him and bit his lip for a moment before he walked out of the store and locked up before looking at him and nodded. “Okay, well I am starving, would you be okay with grabbing some food? I’ll pay.” He stated looking over at him for a moment, hoping he would say yes, he felt like maybe somewhere public for them to talk would be better since they would have to restrain from raising their voice.

Nate watched him as he walked up to him his eyes on him the whole time. Feeling his lips to his he kissed him back placing one hand on his jawline. He continued to give him a few soft kisses before slowly pulling away swallowing. “I’m sorry for walking into your work, you weren’t home and I just , I just couldn’t wait” he said still close to him. He was about to speak again hearing the door open for a costumer: He gave him a small smile stroking his cheek softly” I’ll wait..” he backed a bit so Jamie could do his job feeling a lot more relaxed and happy. He knew he and Jamie had a lot to talk about and work though, but at least he was back in his life.

Jamie looked over at the guy for a moment as they pulled away from each other, honestly, he didn’t know what to think of the kiss or what to expect from it and what this meant for them but he knew one thing, he wasn’t ready for him to be out of his life. He looked at him, “It’s okay, I am glad to see you. We shout in 15 minutes, are you able to wait for me to finish?” He asked before a customer came over and stopped them and he smiled before returning to the customer and helped them with what they wanted to purchase. As the day came to an end and they shut up shop, he smiled walking towards Nate, “Okay, we’re finished here, want to go somewhere where we can chat?”

Even though Nate was upset with Jamie and everything that happened, he was more upset about the fact that he lost him, that he lost the one guy who did not ditch him and the one guy that actually liked him for who he was. They were the complete opposite of each other, Nate was affectionate, he craved affection and wanted to be close while Jamie had difficulties with it. That was probably one of the biggest challenges. After coming home from work seeing the little gift and that it was the design Jamie showed him he knew he wanted to fight for him.

He got a shower and fixed himself up before making his way to a flower shop after texting with his sister he decided to go with one single red rose. There was no one home when he arrived at Jamies door, so he decided to go to the place he knew he most likely was. He remembered the area that Jamies shop was in , but not where. After an thirty minutes walking in the rain he finally found it seeing Jamie in the window as he looked inside. He could not help, but smile a little, it made him proud seeing him in his element. He walked inside waiting as he was was helping someone not sure if Jamie noticed him, but as the costumer was finished he knew for sure. “hi…” he said watching the costumer leave before slowly walking up to him. He pulled out the flower, biting his lip before speaking “ I am selfish, I am moody, I am hard to handle,  but most of all I am an idiot, for pushing you away, for treating you badly, not listening, for being me. I love affection, that is how I show love, that is how I feel loved, but I need to learn not everyone is like that. I know you most likely will ask me to leave or agree with everything I say before you throw me back out in the rain, I deserve that, but I wont forgive myself if I don’t at least once tell you how I feel to your face. I love how ambitious you are, your stupid jokes, I love that look you have when you are thinking, I still want you in my life Jamie…” he swallowed taking a deep breath as he waited for a response. @sanfranjamiea·

Jamie was miserable after what had happened with Nate, he couldn’t believe that he had lost the guy he was falling for.  He didn’t know if the present was too much, the present had a meaning to him, as it was his mums favourite creature. Jamie knew they were opposites and wasn’t even sure if they would work out but he also knew that the guy was someone he cared about he just wasn’t the best with affection.

Jamie was working, he was trying to stay busy by talking to customers, this is what he knew he was good at, he was good at selling and he was good at knowing Jewellery, he enjoyed it and he was in his element. He was standing there talking to a lady and as he noticed Nate walk in and he felt his heart sink but he tried to ignore it to finish with the lady. As the customer left, he looked over at Nate and bit his lip, “Hi....” He said quietly before he looked over at the guy hearing his words. he wanted to talk but he didn’t know how too his heart was pounding and he didn’t know what to do. He smiled a little at him for a moment, “I’m not going to throw you out into the rain Nate.” He sighed a little before wrapping his arms around the guy and kissed him softly.
