Hi, I was taking a look through the pages and noticed that the theme for the 'residents' page isn't working properly. It might just be my computer, but I thought it might be something to look into or at least bring to your attention. :)
Thanks for letting us know! The admin had to take a leave of absence for several months for really personal reasons, but now she’s back and graduated college so hopefully everything will be running smoothly soon!
If we were in this RP a long time ago, is it possible to come back with the same character? Or would we have to apply as one of the new ones?
It’s totally possible.
You would just have to apply again with the same character. If you need help figuring a few things out when it comes to what might be in that app, definitely message us off anon and we’d be happy to help.
this is so beautiful! i keep seeing you in the tags and i decided to check you out, and i'm glad i did! a few questions for you: how active would you say you are? do you have any canon queer characters/people in queer relationships? how literate are you? thank you for your time!!
We’re so happy to hear that! As for the answers you seek, our activity picks up most around the evening, as we’re a small group right now just hoping for more characters to interact with. We are literate, but for a more in depth explanation there’s a page on how we RP.
We do have queer characters, as well as characters with no established sexuality (left to player). Here’s a list:
Dorian Howard
Tara Walsh
Caleb Foster
Diane Gordon
Marcus Brea
Jordan Savage
Michael Dagher
*Though keep in mind, you’re allowed to alter a character’s sexuality if you want to when you apply. None of the characters are described as totally straight.
As for the taken characters, the only canonically heterosexual (at this moment) ones are Ella and Andrea.
Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains is the college town of Sangren, CO. Decked out in a facade of peaceful tranquility with a side of apple pie, the locals pride themselves on maintaining the status quo. While the Mom & Pop shops and pleasantries make for a charming place to live, the lurking danger is just as sweet. The town sits on a hellmouth, a place of increased supernatural energy, where the veil between dimensions is thin. While Sangren is quaint and unsuspecting in the daylight, its creatures, drawn to its energy, run the night.

BACKSTORY:
Had a comfortable life with a family and girlfriend until he was bitten while taking a shortcut home one night. After his first transformation, he feared he would hurt the people he loved, so he skipped town without a word.
He now works on construction sites, using his enhanced strength for a decent cause and making good enough money to live on his own in Sangren. Since becoming aware of others like him, he’s been wary but curious.
Has not learned to control the transformations, but is trying to teach himself.
He has nightmares about the people he’s killed while in wolf hybrid form. He can’t stand the guilt, but sometimes wishes he could just give into his animal urges.
what do vampires look like when they trigger their true face like fangs and such? Also when a human becomes a vampire because they have no soul do they become evil or can they be good and if they want give in to their dark side?
Instead of the Buffy-patented “bumpy face,” our vampires (when triggered) more resemble the look of characters on The Vampire Diaries. Veiny, glowing, bloodshot eyes and fangs. See below:
Though keep in mind this does not mean we are dying for FCs from that show. The rest is partially answered in the last question, but having no soul doesn’t mean they are automatically evil. They have self-control, and they can be good to an extent, but it’s hard. Their first instinct is to be uncaring.
Can vampires turn off their humanity like in The vampire diaries?
It’s not necessarily an on/off switch like in TVD, but the vampires in this verse are without souls. So while they have the capacity to feel, or even love (in a severely more screwed up way than humans) their capacity to feel nothing in a given situation is just as strong. Basically, with effort they can appeal to their humanity but their natural state is to be without it.

Occupation: Graphic Design Major at SSU
Faceclaim: Kiersey Clemons

BACKSTORY:
Originally from New Jersey, she opted to attend Sangren State to get far away from city life and her family to experience a different kind of scenery.
She is a sophomore in the graphic design program, making most of her money by doing freelance work around town and online.
She hates labels in regards to sexuality or the amount that she drinks. She’s seen a couple strange things since she’s been in Sangren, but she trumps it all to being under the influence. She is loud and bubbly and describes herself as “not for everyone.”
Has a penchant for sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong as a kind of distraction from her own issues.
Has had several run ins with the law due to partying and bad decisions, and her family hopes the time in a small town in the mountains will calm her down a bit.

BACKSTORY:
A late bloomer, Tara discovered her abilities at around 18 years old, when rooms would shake when she was angry and objects would suspend themselves mid-air when she was elated.
Despite the stoic demeanor and cool face she puts on to the world and most importantly, the women coming in and out of her life, she is very emotional and it shows in her skills.
She has a bit of control over her abilities now, but she was very little knowledge when it comes to the history and nature of magic. That being said, she tends to lean toward the more unnatural side.
Her practices are reckless and without aim, and while she would never admit this, she is becoming addicted. There is a small crack on her wrist that she covers with rubber bands.
She lives downtown with a roommate she barely sees, between her nocturnal tendencies and work schedule at the bar.
She is very withholding about her past and her family.

When he was fourteen, he lost his older brother to what he believes were a pack of werewolves. The official statement was an animal attack.
His mother was devastated by her first born’s death and has grown to resent Caleb, a sub par student now graduated with no prospects or friends. He had always been an odd child, his brother the only one who could really talk to him.
Since his childhood, Caleb had always been obsessed with the creatures he believes are in Sangren. His brother’s death only strengthened it.
He’s constantly trying to get into the Tartarus, and due to his age and reputation as the kid wildly obsessed with exposing monsters in the town, he is always turned away.
He has an elaborate map of the town in his room marked with places heavy with supernatural activity. It is also marked with photographs and journal entries.

character bio
Anna had always known, from the day she could speak, that she was a bad seed. Starting with her conception, she was never one to truly be wanted; yet an accident that needed be taken care of. Her mother, raised by an overbearing baptist family, was quiet and sweet. Her father, however, was mischievous and troublesome; the type who would soon steal her mother’s heart, similarly to fifths he smuggled from the towns local corner store.
After her birth, her mother disappeared and Anna was left in the care of her grandmother, who was sure to raise her in the way her corrupt daughter never could. Anna’s days were a regimen of bible readings, tutors, chores and prayers before bedtime. On the weekends, Anna found herself in multiple confessions with strange men she she knew as ‘Fathers’, as well as practice for sports she never truly cared for- or was good at for that matter.
When she reached her preteens, she was enrolled in St. Mary’s, a strict catholic school where her grandmother hoped she would be whipped into shape, considering she had never given in to her practices prior. Anna had spent her early teen years alone with her sketch books and whatever strange comics she could smuggle into her bedroom behind her grandmothers back. These books would be considered blasphemy, but Anna found a deep, unacquainted comfort in them that she couldn’t quite yet explain.
Her alienation continued until her junior year, when she met her best friend Cole. The two became quite inseparable; sharing Alanis Morrisette CDs and drafting comics and stories of unknown places. She was bitten the summer before senior year. Anna was grounded, per usual, but Cole had spent the better part of the evening convincing her to be his wing man as Chris would be there. Naturally, with Chris being the love of his life and with Cole being the complicit child of two homophobes (a life Anna knew all too well) he would need her rebellious wit to help jump start the conversation. After a drink or two, and one or more low key hints from Anna, Chris and Cole snuck off to the dock.
It was sundown and Anna found herself left alone with Aaron - the most infamous druggie-meets-ladies-man in the entire grade. He led her, fingers interlaced, into the woods. Stumbling as they walked, they shared puffs of the joint she would soon regret. They sat on a log that was too moist for comfort and talked of future dreams and lost loves. Anna shared her fear of intimacy, as it was known to her that her mother’s affection had lead to her disappearance. Aaron looked on, dead in his eyes, as comforting words turned to exploring hands. Uneased by his touch, she pulled away, only to be met by his unforgiving grasp. She struggled as he thrust her under neath him, tearing her shirt off and ripping her high waisted jeans far below her hips, sharp teeth digging deep into her thigh.
The incident eliminated every possibility she saw for her future. When she realized what his bite had done to her, she knew she’d have to leave town or risk hurting someone she knew. She sat on the inflatable pink couch from her childhood and she stared at the black spray-painted corkboard above her desk. An aged postcard of painted pine trees and small buildings stared back at her: the words “Sangren: Tranquility with a side of apple pie” reflected in her eyes. Cole had given her that post card, after a trip to Colorado for his family reunion. And while neither her or Cole knew a living soul in the town, she found comfort in the image, and quickly packed her belongings.
para sample:
Please provied a sample of your para writing, in character, using one of these three prompts:
1. “Nobody seemed to notice.”
2. “Don’t go into the forest alone.”
3. “Where’s the rest of the body?”
She woke up to scratches, everywhere – twigs and rough leaves pressed into her bare skin. Her eyes were fogged by sweat or tears, who could tell the difference. As Anna rubbed the dirt and grime off her face, she was met with a sticky, yet wet red residue on her palms. Startled, she tried to comprehend the situation around her; no clothes in sight but a trail of blood leading to the bushes behind her. Anna’s breath caught in her throat. Sharp twigs dug into her thighs and hands as she hoisted herself out of brush.
Her fingers tenderly pressed through the leaves, revealing what seemed to be the remains of a body. Ice cold fear shot through Anna’s veins as she leaned in closer. At the sight of a bright orange gym shoe, she tensed. Holy Faith, the middle school she had attended prior to St. Mary’s, provided each student with these unsavory pair of sneakers, in order to eliminate difference or praise between classmates. Her gut turned to churning oil as she clasped her arms around the body laying before her. From what she could tell, he was no more than 12 years old, and dressed for some sort of practice. She brushed a brown tuft of hair off his face, only to be met with his lifeless, hazel eyes. Tears began to roll down her face as she grazed over the bite mark over his brow. Feeling the consistency of his blood, Anna’s hand sprang to her own lips - partly from shock, but also recalling the same texture she had felt not minutes ago. And then she knew.
The queasy stomach was not from the mystery of a dead body but from the understanding that she had caused the death of such a small, innocent being. Her nails, nails that seemed much longer than the night before, cut deep into her arms as she collapsed into herself. She had no recollection, but a feeling - an instinct - that she had caused this. She had stolen the bright soul out of the sweet little boy laying before her. Her only thought now was to bring him to where he could be found.
Anna fought the idea that she would have to leave Mayfield. She fought the idea of leaving Cole and the quaint and somewhat tolerable life she had built for herself. She knew, however, that leaving this boy where his family could find him was worlds more important than the idea of leaving her home. Eyes now fogged surely with tears, Anna’s arms dug beneath the damp leaves and limp boy. As she stood, she was met with a lighter weight than expected. She took a breath and focused.. Looking down to where his waist would have been, she found only torn flesh . Sweat dripping and heart racing, only one questioned remained; Where’s the rest of the body?

BACKSTORY:
Bitten by a werewolf on a camping trip she took with her high school friends. After too many beers, she got lost and couldn’t find her way back to camp, making her a clear target.
She stayed lost throughout her first transformation, finally making her way back home and attempting to continue her life in the suburban midwest.
Aside from her dark secret, she soon realized that after graduating, her status in high school as head cheerleader and prom queen would mean nothing in the real world. Her jobs as a receptionist only depressed her.
Research on her condition led to her realizing she would now age very slowly. She knew she would have to leave home before people noticed, and when she did, it occurred to her that she could re-live high school -- over and over.
Twenty years have passed since she was bitten, and she spends her life enrolling in different schools, trying out for teams and reliving her glory days. Over time she learned to embrace her curse and control her transformations. She now sees it as a blessing, as though her destiny was to be prom queen for as long as she could.
She often searches for a family to take her in where she lands, making up sad stories about how she’s come to be on her own until someone takes pity. Though she is incredibly self-centered by nature, she’s become a great actress and con-woman. The wolf is successfully kept secret, and she allows herself to turn once a month, otherwise she gets antsy.
