a long silence falls over the cleric ( entirely in disbelief, she would argue ) as her eyes widen to the catastrophe before them. sure, her spells miss plenty of times, but never in such a dire moment of hitting a support beam to knock out some more than slightly angry ogres.

ASTARION HAS NEVER BEEN ONE FOR GRAND, LONG-TERM PLANS, though he'd admit he thought he could at least take out one precariously unsteady beam. It would have been PERFECT— shoot the pathetically decrepit, little wooden beam, crash the ceiling onto the too-talkative ogres, and if he's lucky, there's a free meal at the end of this. A done deal.

He refuses to dwell on the voice; he's come TOO FAR to be haunted by his former master. He may not be entirely free, but he's so much stronger than the vampire lord ( or anyone ) gives him credit for.

There's a shrillness to his voice he's yet to learn to control. He doesn't care. If this whole godsforsaken village heard him, he STILL wouldn't care. Surely a murderous gith and Faerun's gloomiest cleric could manage something other than catching flies with their OPEN mouths.
