school of bumpheads in Tubbataha
On this trip, we had several encounters with bumphead parrotfish (different from bumphead wrasse) I'd seen them a few times before - in Palau and in Scarborough Shoal but they are usually quite difficult to get close to. These ones were busy chewing on hard coral (their main diet) and pooping sand!!

The Jacks of Twin Rocks
All divers who frequent Anilao know by now of the school of jacks that have taken up residence at Twin Rocks. I dive there almost every weekend - sometimes twice in one weekend and it's one of the preferred places for me to take my dive groups - cos of the school of jacks, giant clams and the variety of fish life. When I dove there last Saturday I was pleasantly surprised by the biggest school i've ever seen there yet! These rivaled the "university of jacks" as my friend Eileen used to say - referring to the enormous schools of jacks we would see in Tubbataha in the 90's.
