You’re not mocking your oppressors, you’re mocking a bunch of teenagers on the internet who are going through their own shit. Jokes are fine, I make jokes about my own sexuality, but actively bullying kids on the internet for their sexuality - calling them bihets or boring or evil for the way they were born - doesn’t help anyone. People aren’t gonna stop ethically being allies just because you mocked them, but they’re gonna stop getting involved, stop participating in and housing events, if every time they try to do something good they’re met with mockery. And it doesn’t matter whether they’re allies or not, it’s still shitty to be mean to people over their sexuality - the people who did that to you and the people who actually harm LGBT+ people aren’t seeing your posts, it’s innocent and kind-hearted people on the internet who are feeling vulnerable for their own reasons.

I don’t think it’s even okay to bully people over things they can change. There are situations when a dash of mockery is okay - comedians and political satire and the like, for example. But that’s not bullying. There’s a difference. I wouldn’t mind if it was just funny jokes, but when you’re going onto bi people’s posts and saying “Shut up, bihet” or talking about how straight people are all monsters… like, Bo Burnham’s song “Straight White Man” is funny, it’s a well done joke, and I’ve no issue with it. I’ve no issue with a “The straights are at it again” joke under a picture of a weird marriage proposal. It’s when that comes with “Why do straight people exist?” “Y'all disgust me” sorts of comments, and it’s going from a harmless throwaway comment to generalizing and hating straight people. Be reasonable.
