Mephisto absorbed the twin sons, William and Thomas, of Wanda and Vision but they were heavily transfigured by Wanda's magic that it destroyed him seemingly ending the twin's existence but it did not. William ended up in the front steps of the Kaplan couple in New York and Thomas ended up at an adoption center in New Jersey. Raised by different families, the twins eventually find each other.
