hey all! i haven’t been doing enough writing lately to really warrant having a separate writing blog. i’m going to merge back with @nomorethoughts for the foreseeable future, and all of my writing will be over there. if i decide to do write more often again in the future, i might revive this blog, but for now this blog is going to be pretty much inactive :)

i’m deeply disappointed in iskall and i can’t support him or his disgusting actions in the slightest. i’m deeply saddened by this - he was one of my comfort youtubers for years and it’s heartbreaking to find out what a creep he is behind the scenes.

that said i will not be posting any fan content of him going forward. anything i’ve previously posted, written, drawn, or reblogged about iskall (here or on my writing blog) will remain up.

Aside from the Bungou fandom, are you in any other anime fandoms? ✨

hi there, thanks for the ask! as of currently, no. in the past, i’ve dabbled with my hero academia which was fun! i never really got into the fandom publicly though, mostly just an irl friend and i bouncing headcanons and aus off each other for fun, and reading a few fics here and there/saving cool fanart.

i also used to be into sk8 the infinity, ouran high school host club, and yuri on ice, all of which i’m definitely due for a rewatch of. i dabbled a bit with the fandoms of each of those, but again, never really publicly.

in terms of anime fandoms i’d actually consider myself to be a part of though, bsd is pretty much it!

He finds that when he takes it off, he’s too aware of the absence of it.

going to start ahasbands posting on the regular i think! they kinda just rotate around my head 24/7 and i like doing something creative with that energy. anyways, here's another silly little drabble, kind of just based on my own college/end of semester vibes :)

The semester was coming to a close. A chilly spring was giving way to warmer days of the early summer, with the promise of more to come with the conclusion of finals. Finally, it was really beginning to feel like the end. 

To celebrate the end of the semester, students were camped out on the central green, sprawled in the grass under a sunset sky. Live music played from up at the front of the field – some student-led cover band – and somewhere off by the tree line, a joint was discretely being passed around, filling the air with a notably less discrete smell. 

Sitting in the middle of the lawn, Mumbo was just taking it all in. He sat cross-legged vaguely tapping his foot to the rhythm of the music, content to just coexist with the energy of the place. He turned, however, as someone approached him. 

“Martyn,” he greeted with a bit of a smile, gazing up at him from where he sat. 

“Mumbo,” Martyn greeted back. Matching his friend’s smile, he plopped down beside him on Mumbo’s blanket. “Enjoying yourself?” 

“I am,” Mumbo said. “Good change of scenery. You know, I studied for six hours today.” 

Martyn let out an impressed little whistle. “Statistics?” He asked. 

“Statistics,” Mumbo confirmed. 

“Impressive.” 

Mumbo hummed in agreement. 

“Definitely a good way to take a break,” Martyn agreed. “Have you made the rounds yet?” 

“Sort of,” said Mumbo. “I don’t know, I kind of just like being here for the energy of it,” he gestured vaguely around at the other students. The longer he looked, it seemed the more there was to see. Some were playing lawn games, standing in circles kicking around a hacky sack, others were playing card games, some dancing, some chatting, and others, like himself, were just lying down and seeming to bask in the atmosphere of it all.

“Feels like summer,” Martyn commented. 

“It does,” said Mumbo. 

“Can you believe it’s the end already?” 

“It’s a little surreal.” 

“Right?” Martyn smiled, leaning back on his hands to support his weight. “I don’t know, I kind of can’t believe this is it. First year of uni, completely done.” 

Mumbo dipped his head in agreement. 

A comfortable silence hung between them for a moment. Familiar as it was for them, there seemed something different this time around, like the air between them held the tension of words that went unspoken. 

Martyn gazed at him for a moment. He opened his mouth like he did want to say something, but shut it as if deciding against it. The song came to an end, the crowd applauding and cheering, and it seemed that was enough to break the quiet moment, and finally, Martyn spoke up. 

“You should come see me this summer,” he said. “I live out by this lake, it’s a really pretty place and I know you’d like it.” 

Mumbo blinked. “Is that a genuine offer?” 

“Why wouldn’t it be?” 

“I don’t know. Sounds too good to be true.”

“I just think I’ll miss you too much if I don’t see you for three months,” Martyn admitted candidly.

Mumbo’s cheeks went a little red. “I’ve been thinking about that. It’s gonna be weird not seeing you around everyday.”

Martyn shouldered him playfully. “I know, I honestly don’t want to spend a whole summer without you!” Though his tone was light, almost a little teasing, his shoulder lingered against Mumbo for a moment longer, wordlessly conveying the sincerity behind his words.

Mumbo’s voice went a little quieter. “...I wouldn’t mind a visit. I’d like that a lot, really.” 

Another song ended, and Martyn applauded. He let out a whoop as others around him cheered, and Mumbo’s gaze came to rest on him. He smiled idly, not catching himself just admiring his friend. 

After a moment, Martyn turned back to him, meeting his gaze with a genuine little smile. 

“Come see me then?”

Slowly but surely, winter was giving way to spring. It was the first comparatively warm morning of the year, with sunlight streaming into the backyard where Mumbo was stringing laundry onto a clothesline. He had to admit, he liked being able to feel the sun on his skin after the long months of a gray and windy winter. 

Mumbo turned at the sound of the fence gate squeaking open, finishing clipping up the bedsheet so he had a free hand to wave. “Welcome back,” he greeted. 

The gate squeaked back shut, and Martyn was promptly making his way across the yard. “It’s so nice out,” he commented idly, before leaning up to give Mumbo a chaste kiss. 

Mumbo hummed in agreement, a smile pulling at the corners of his lips. “It is,” he agreed. “You sure took advantage of it, was I still asleep when you left this morning?” 

“I actually don’t know,” Martyn said with a bit of a laugh. “I leaned in to give you a kiss goodbye and you mumbled something entirely incoherent before you just fell right back asleep.” 

“Did I?” Mumbo laughed. “Sorry, I probably meant to say goodbye.” He strung another towel up onto the clothesline.

“It was really early,” Martyn reasoned. “Pretty much with the sun, but I’ve got a whole haul of firewood around front so I’d say it was worth it.” 

“Are you gonna fall asleep early on me tonight then?” 

“Oh definitely. Five o’clock dinner and nine o’clock bedtime.” 

Mumbo sighed. “We’re getting so old,” he teased.

Martyn laughed at that and waved him off. “Don’t say that like we haven’t still got a lifetime to spend together!” He reached down, shaking another damp piece of laundry out – one of Mumbo’s shirts, he noticed – and clipped it up alongside the laundry Mumbo had already strung up. 

Mumbo couldn’t help but smile. His gaze lingered on Martyn, watching the sun catch the gold of his wedding band as his hands dipped back into the laundry basket to continue the work. 

“You don’t have to help,” Mumbo offered. “You’ve been out all morning, do you not want to get off your feet?” 

Martyn hummed. “I prefer the company. And this way, we can get the work done twice as fast. Coffee when we’re done?” 

“Sounds lovely.” 

They were nearing the end of the basket, with Mumbo continuing to work his way down the line stringing up their laundry. The quiet between them was comfortable, natural and familiar in some way. 

Though eventually, Martyn spoke up. 

“Will you call me crazy if I tell you something?” 

Mumbo glanced over at him and blinked. “Depends if it makes you sound crazy.” 

“Fair enough,” Martyn said with a smile. 

“Now I feel like you have to tell me,” said Mumbo. “You’ve got me curious, mate.” 

“I’m kind of just… thinking,” Martyn said with a vague gesture. “Maybe it will make me sound crazy, but some days I feel like I knew you in a past life, kind of like I’ve loved you even more than a lifetime. Except that sounds pretty cheesy.” 

Mumbo hummed. “That’s not totally crazy. Okay, a little, maybe, but is that not normally how people feel about the person they’re in love with?” 

“I don’t know,” Martyn admitted. 

“I always thought so,” said Mumbo. “Like, even the mundane makes you feel more whole and complete when it’s with someone you love?”

“Yeah, but it’s almost more than that too. Deeper…like it completes me in a more… existential way.” Martyn shook his head. “Am I losing you a little here?” 

“Not exactly,” said Mumbo. He shook out the last bit of laundry, stringing the pillowcase up alongside the others before tucking the laundry basket under one arm. “I guess I just don’t contemplate my multi-lifetime existence as much as you do. But you’re still making sense to me.” 

Martyn smiled a bit. Wordlessly, he leaned in to press a kiss to Mumbo’s lips, though was surprised when Mumbo followed it up with another.

“I love you.” 

“I love you too.” 

Martyn kissed him one more time, before nodding to the back door. “Break time? I’ll make coffee.” 

“Break time,” Mumbo agreed. They crossed the lawn, headed back for the door, when Mumbo paused by the doorway. 

“For what it’s worth,” he said, “I think you’re right.”

i wasn't planning to post this one (it's purely self indulgent) but ahasbands enjoyers are STARVING out here, and i figure i can at least contribute some crumbs! please enjoy!

"You know, for all these jokes about being married and cinematic kisses under the sunset, I really wouldn't mind kissing you, you know.”

For a moment, Mumbo’s not quite sure what to make of that. Martyn certainly seems sincere, with no hint of teasing in his voice and a slight smile on his lips that’s half concealed by the darkness. A campfire crackles between them, serving to break up the tension that would otherwise feel a bit stifling in the few feet between them. 

“That’s… awfully forward of you, no?” says Mumbo. 

Martyn tips his head a bit as he gazes back at him. “What? More forward than when I just decided we were married?” 

“Well yeah, I’d say so. That much was a joke and all, but…” he trails off. The more he thinks about it, the more he thinks the idea of being married might as well not be a joke, with the level of devotion that he and Martyn have developed to one another.

“What would be forward is if I stood up, walked right over there, and kissed you, Mumbo. That would be forward.” 

Mumbo speaks before he has a moment to think. “I wouldn’t mind that.” 

At that, Martyn blinks. He opens his mouth to speak, shuts it, and gets to his feet. 

It suddenly clicks in his head what Mumbo’s just said yes to, and his face flushes over instantly. He stands up, hands raising defensively in front of him. “I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-” 

“Did you just apologize for agreeing to something I asked you for?” 

“I uh- technically you didn’t ask, you just made a suggestion and I gave a very honest answer.”

“Fair point,” says Martyn. “I’ll ask then: can I kiss you, Mumbo?” 

For a moment, it’s as if Mumbo has entirely forgotten how words work. Yes, he thinks, please. The words catch in his throat, and slowly, he just nods. 

And at once, Martyn indulges him. He clears the remaining space between them in a few strides, and his lips collide with Mumbo’s. There’s a certain eagerness to it, rooted in the weeks of mutual pining that have led up to this very moment, but a gentleness too as Martyn’s hand comes to rest on Mumbo’s cheek a bit experimentally. 

Mumbo exhales softly into the kiss as Martyn slips his free hand into his, and Mumbo nervously laces their fingers together.

All of it is new, exciting though a little scary to cross the line they’ve flirted the boundary of since the start of the season. It’s too easy to give in, and Mumbo does exactly that, melting away beneath Martyn’s touch until they finally have to pull away. 

“Was that forward enough for you?” 

Martyn’s thumb traces Mumbo’s cheek idly, and that little movement alone is enough to turn Mumbo’s legs to jelly beneath him. “I-I think we went a little out of order,” he manages with a laugh. “We got married before we even had our first kiss.”

Martyn can’t help but giggle a little. For good measure, he presses another kiss to Mumbo’s cheek. “We’ve been out of order since the start, I’d say we just sealed the deal,” he said. 

“Do we want to get married? Should one of us propose for real?” 

“Mate, I think you just did. I’d love to marry you.” 

The two of them are laughing again, and Martyn drops his other hand to Mumbo’s, holding both of them in his own. 

“I’m actually not sure how much of this is a joke anymore,” Mumbo admits when his laughter finally begins to subside. 

“If I’m honest, I’m not sure either,” Martyn agrees. “But I did like kissing you, that’s for sure.” 

“No, right, I-I figured as much. Kissing someone for the bit would be… a little far?”

Martyn laughs again. “So that was sincere on your end too?” 

“Of course, yeah. Been kind of hoping we might… you know… for, uh, for weeks now!” He has to break eye contact for a moment, a bit embarrassed to be admitting the extent of his pining. 

“I should’ve made a move way sooner in that case” says Martyn, “I mean, I didn’t want to come on too… forward? I say that as if I didn’t just declare us married  from the start.” 

“Yeah, exactly! That’s the whole reason we’re here.” 

“I should be more forward then, I should keep it up?”

“If it gets us further.”

“Then can I kiss you again?” 

Mumbo can’t help but giggle. “Please do.” 

So, Martyn does.

the ratio of fics i've written to fics i've actually posted on ao3 is a little absurd. i've been writing hermitcraft fics for 4+ years, and it's probably close to 10:1 at this point if i'm totally honest. i'm considering reuploading some of my old stuff, even if it doesn't necessarily reflect my current writing style because i feel like there are people who would definitely be interested in some of them, you know?
