i’ve never noticed the beauty of brown eyes,

until i saw yours.

and realized they’d be engraved in my mind

forever.

i know your favourite colour, pink

and your favourite fruit, oranges

you love your sweets, but especially love chocolate

and you love cats,

especially your own

i know you love ice cream

and i can even name off your favourite dinosaur

but i don’t make that list of “favourites”

even though you hold such a high place on mine

coming from the home i did

i didn’t believe in love.

but when you came into my life

i became confused,

as an unknown feeling overwhelmed me.

and it was only after you left,

after you ripped away the love you gave me,

that i truly knew what i was feeling.

and i couldn’t help but still love you

even when you deny loving me.

nothing competes with a women’s soft lips

pressed against your skin

dragging their way across your face

to meet your own lips

tenderly touching one another 

unable to pull away for more than a few seconds

and clinging to each other as if it is the only touch that matters

sometimes just the thought of you brings a smile to my face the thought of your smile, your laugh, your soft touches, kisses and hugs the way you speak and act the pretty and not so pretty everything about you just makes me smile but in that same way the thought of the lack of it the lack of you that i have brings tears to my eyes
