I don’t think one can fully capture the beauty of Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park but here are some more attempts from my iPhone.

I’ve also gotten pretty lucky with days off lately. We got a morning off this last week where the weather wasn’t too horrible so we headed out to Otter Cliffs and I got to see some Oceanside cliff climbing in action. And then yesterday I had the day off and spent most of the day hiking the more technical routes of Acaida (the Precipice and the Beehive) due to the good weather. In the end I got a good 10 miles of trail covered.

I am almost ajuststed to 8am to 8pm workdays, 6 days a week  schedule, while living on the sail boat, Margaret Todd with no running water and a very limited kitchen. It consists of waking up with the sun making some coffee and doing some yoga on the deck. Then either running to the MDI YMCA for a shower or shoving my head in the sink of the public bathrooms. Then a day of sailing after which is sometimes followed by a boulder session at COA's lovely and practically unused wall and then some dinner by which time I'm so exshasted and ready for some sleep.

I love the iPhone and social media. For example instagram is awesome I snap a photo with my iPhone and submit. Then it is out there for people to see. I know this is kinda a slacker approach to photography but I despise editing. I loth it so much that I have hard drives full of images that no one including me will ever see again. So I am posting some recent instagrams photos and then linking my account with this blog.

I think I am becoming a mycophile. Every time I go hiking up here in Maine it ends up taking me longer than expected because I am literally stopping to photograph every mushroom I see and up here there are thousand of them. I am thinking about purchasing Pat O'Reilly's latest book, 'Fascinated by Fungi' so I can classify them and then maybe in the winter do an ink and water color series of them.

 So for all you folks that didn't know this, NEW ENGLAND IS AMAZING!

I can see why in the mid 19th century the first "rusticators" were artists and journalists, including Thomas Cole and Frederic Church. With every path and trail Mount Desert Island becomes even more embedded in my heart. I love the fact that everyone up here  practically has a couple bikes strapped to the back of there make shift car homes, with a kayak or two on the roof and a good amount of hiking and trail running equipment in the passenger seat. I have only been here for 3 weeks and I never want to leave. I love waking up early and hiking to the top of a mountain to watch the sun rise before work, then sailing all day, then going for a nice late night ride on the carriage trails after our sunset sail which always takes my breath away.

I see a new website for The Dreamer Project and countless hours learning Adobe Muse, luckily I love Lynda.com tutorials!

I never really shared my Mountain Workshop story publicly via the web but as I am compiling harddrives and preparing for my departure from Bowling Green, KY, I came across it again.

Jessica's story now and then, helped me realize anything is possible. The Van Bruggen family opened up their home and there hearts to me that week and I hope never to forget the life lessons her story taught me.

So it has been an interesting semester, for one I am graduating and secondly I don’t think I will be going into the photo-journalism field for work. I have been really getting into design, interactive design, epub interface and app development.

Here are some timeline titles I just complete for a collaborative project I am working on about the Alabama tornados last year. I made the first one interactive but the group decided they wanted to keep it still.

Another poster for Sol Neelman's Lecture. This was actually going to be the main poster but the WKU NPPA Officers decided that they didn't want it to be as ambiguous (or without example of his work). Still my favorite due to the screen print quality.

Sol Neelman is coming to Western! WKU NPPA has worked so hard on this and continues to work hard, I am so proud of everyone!

Posters... and more posters. That is all I do! But I love this poster and so does Sol Neelman! This is going to be one crazy week, first Sol comes to Bowling Green and then on Thursday my parents roll in, along with graduation right around the corner!
