’’Swedish Metal Aid’’ was a music project created in 1985 to record a single for the benefit of the starving in Ethiopia . Some 80 Swedish hard rockers from the 29 bands participated in the disc sold 50 000 copies. Revenues went directly to the relief efforts.

The album was produced and arranged by Kee Marcello (when Easy Action and later Europe) who also performed the guitar solo. The band that formed the choir was 220 volt, Aphrodite , Bedlam , Candy Roxx , Chris 99, Crystal Pride, Deep River, Easy Action, Europe , Fifth Avenue , Glorious Bankrobbers , Heavy Load , Madison , Mentzer Group Motherlode , Neon Leon & bondage Babies, Odessa , Orion Swords, Oz , Power , Red Baron , Rolene, Silver Mountain , Spellbound , Steel Wings Torch , Trash , Treat , Universe.
