It’s kind of hard to explain but there are several songs in Brazil right now that are making fun of trump ever since the 50% tariffs were announced. If you want to understand something about Brazil is that we will make fun of everything and everyone, it will become a meme, said meme will become a song, and the song will probably be played during carnaval.

Saw a post once about someone not really getting how a religious country with a giant statue of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro can also make fun of Jesus. But that’s the kind of paradox you get living here - people are religious and people will be photoshopping Hozier as Jesus

Our showers are powered by electricity. The most famous federal judge is constantly compared with Voldemort because he is bald. We figured out ways to eat food that could hurt you (pequi is a fruit that you can’t bite into because it has multiple thorns inside and still we found a way to chop it and put it into rice, maniçoba has hydrogen cyanide in it and people found a way to cook it and make it non toxic).

We have made up English words like “baby look shirt” which is just a sort of tight, small, feminine shirt, and this expression does not exist in English.
