[Now into the second trimester of her pregnancy, Sara had moved past the morning sickness and onto odd cravings and starting to show a bit. It was barely 8 in the morning and she was desperate for Mexican food.] I’m not s-sure if I’m strange, the b-baby is strange, or pregnancy itself is j-just strange... but, I n-need a taco.

No. Nope. [points at her, nose-wrinkled, because there are feathers in her house and somewhere deep down she knows she doesn’t have it in her to comfort a hurt animal and it’s leaving her feeling strangely on edge because of her own inefficiency] You did. And now you do again. Get in here.
W-what? [moves further into the apartment, frowning in confusion until she sees Otto preening and immediately wells up] Oh...oh my god... Oh my god! Otto!

[Emma pulled open the door, looking slightly harried and just a bit stressed out (her current aesthetic these days). There were the sounds of a bird flapping around her sitting room] Did you walk here? That was the longest I’ve ever waited for anyone to show up for anything.
Uh, y-yeah. The h-healer said I’m not supposed to apparate or t-take the floo. S-sorry. [looks around her to find the source of the flapping] D-did you get an owl?

[Emma answered the window automatically without really checking which owl was on the other end of it–– with the move and all of the work things she has coming in, there was almost a constant stream of them. However, when she opened the window and saw the frazzled, proud mess on the other end, she did a double take. Not a huge animal fan, she nevertheless reached out for the bird and held it as far away from her as she could as she welcomed it inside. One scan of the note was enough for her to first become confused and then realized what must have happened. instead of sending the battered animal back out into the wind, Emma located her wand on the kitchen counter and cobbled up a ministry-style paper airplane of a memo, sending it off to tell (not ask–– tell) Sara to come over right away]
[Sara was grateful it was her day off when Emma’s owl came. She hadn’t seen her friend in a while and was sure Emma would be pleased to know that she was taking all the appropriate pre-natal vitamins and following her healers instructions. Still, it was rare for her to demand Sara’s presence and she found herself worried something had happened. She only hesitated as long as it took for her to find her left shoe before leaving the flat to walk over to Emma’s. Luckily it was close as Sara doubted Emma would appreciate her showing up by taxi and she’d been informed not to travel by floo or apparate. When she arrived she was slightly out of breath, but knocked firmly on the door.] Emma?
