Midotsuyu, A Underrated Ship.
I think its a valid question to ask, why do I ship rarepairs in BNHA?
Well, for one, I think its fun to explore characters and their dynamics with others.
Specifically in the case of midotsuyu. Tsuyu has a sense of calm in intense situations, like Midoriya himself said,
Tsuyu also is different from the girls in her class. She's actually... pretty normal and mediocre. And I think that makes her special in her own way.
She's a mature, quiet, and is arguably the best-balanced student hero in 1-A since she is smart, can make battle plans, maneuver with ease, and fight either as a backup or as a melee fighter. Aizawa himself said that Tsuyu can do a bit of everything. Which makes her a useful partner in a hero fight.
She also comes from a happy big family, hence her insistence in making strong bonds. Also she's shown to be very protective and concerned of all her friends wellbeing, as seen post Bakugou's kidnapping.
Despite being calm and level headed, it is shown that she does have breakdowns and does have emotions, it's just not visible due to her poker face.
What I also like about her is that she's not conventionally attractive, owing to the fact she has a frog like face and she is relatively a normal character, who is cute in her own way.
Yeah, he's definitely emotional. And he has every right to be with the weight of the world on his shoulders. But it also means he needs people calm enough/sweet enough to lean on.
Both of them are smart, and notably talented in strategy making and fighting.
Not only that, but their backgrounds also are similar, Tsuyu was basically left out and was kinda forced to make friends with the only other mutant type quirk person, meanwhile Midoriya experienced full on bullying from an old friend and others, and was also seemingly left out and alone in middle school. They both are a bit socially awkward, but Tsuyu is specifically more introverted.
They can easily spar with each other and work together on hero missions and rescue. Tsuyu's level headedness can help in intense situations, especially for someone like Midoriya who could easily lose hope and panic.
I like their interactions, and noticeably they give more depth to her. I also think she has/had the potential to be a great character, if she were given more screentime. Quiet characters are not necessarily meant to hide in the background. Tsuyu is a refreshing character, and I love how blunt she is.
His life is chaotic, so having an emotional pillar does help. Her calm energy would suit Midoriya's emotional and chaotic energy, and I'd think they'd just be so cute together!
I think that, if they were to go the romantic route it would actually be cute and hilarious even? Tsuyu straight up confessing while Izuku melts into a puddle. They'd work very well platonically or romantically.
Hence, this is why I ship MidoTsuyu! What are your thoughts?
