RAPE CANNOT BE JUSTIFIED!!!
So recently in my country there has been a rape case going around where a lady had reported the case and no action was taken to properly investigate her case therefore the police dismissed her case. CRUEL RIGHT?. So she decide to take matters into her own hands tell the public. There has been people with different views. Talking about how could she allow herself to let him take her back to his place for drinks?. But they fail to understand what the meaning of rape?. He violated her and took advantage of her after drugging her and had sexual intercourse without her agreeing to it, you see that simple decision she didn't get to make to either agree or disagree plays a huge factor because a women's body is her temple and the fact that she was never asked if she wanted to means that she could have been exposed to diseases like HIV, STD's etc.. And on top of that she actually knew the guy so that is to rule out the fact that she shouldn't have trusted him, he was her close friend and they knew each other well plus she never went alone. But the actually problem is THESE ARE THE MEN IN OUR WORLD, you know and by not taking appropriate action to lock these disgusting, mentally disturbed men in jail. They may never get caught and you know we marry these men, our children will grow up around these men, it can be their uncle or family friend and us ladies won't know. So justice for one can be peace for all. So stop using the excuse of umm 'she was dressed inappropriately' that is like giving the rapists out there a go ahead like if she is not dressed appropriately according to you, you can go ahead and rape her. No one said you should look. Yesterday a man on radio said that by dressing inappropriately we a breaking a certain law, though I am not aware of that law it still doesn't give the men the authority to rape her as if he is entitled to it, It doesn't mean that her breaking the 'supposed' law could lead to anyone raping her, it shouldn't. If that is the way she wants to dress even though exposing it is okay, because it shouldn't bring out the unwanted attention from others, and when a lady says no she means NO!. See TBH looking doesn't hurt anyone but you taking it further to rape her is agitating to us women, for your sexual pleasure you just had to be so selfish as to deny the other the right to refuse. Women aren't objects. We are people. I think this goes way deeper to the inequality issue, men feel stronger than women and that they can do anything to us because the society puts us lower than them, see all their life they have been taught that a girl is weaker, a girl is just in general not better than you, I mean most of the time girls aren't given the freedom boys have from a young age like I'm 15 and my mum doesn't let me go to any sleep over at all I've only had one sleepover my whole life and it was hard to convince her even if the person was on the same street and right across from us. On the other hand my brother is 12 and he has had many sleepovers than I have. I know my mum was just looking out for me but I realised from a young age that no matter how older I am than my brother, I just can't have the same freedom, I can't go out dressed a certain way especially when I'm going out alone. I can't even have a boyfriend till I'm 21 but my brother can at anytime. For us ladies when we are working down the street and we see a man coming in the opposite direction and he looks weird to us we have to cross the road to the other side or you think of all the things you could pick up to hit him like sticks if he tries anything. Women take on a lot of things during daily basis and from a young age fear was instilled in us by our parents because they want to protect us and I HATE IT!!. I don't want to have to tell my daughters that if their uncle touches them in a weird away they should tell me straightaway, I just don't want that to be a necessity. We need to take action, inform schools to teach boys parents to talk to their kids and teach them CONSENT, this is necessary we need a change. If I have to start I will with all my might. I just want us to live in peace and harmony.IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???
